Sam Houston State just won its first NCAA national title

in women's bowling. Same sport that brought the first national title to Vanderbilt, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Maryland-Eastern Shore.

There's only 35 schools that even play. Sam Houston State just started their program 4 years ago. We should look into adding one - we could be a national title contender in a few years with minimal investment.

Bowling. Shit, bet we don't a have a BBQ Team either. We could damn well win that. I saw TSUN's Rig, three microwaves and a generator with a cooler full of Kroger Microwave BBQ - we could dominate.

From the number of HBCUs on that list, women's bowling must be a particularly cheap way to meet your Title IX requirements.

Bingo! This is exactly why we should pursue this path. Women's bowling is an inexpensive way to fill some of the Title IX requirements and we could be very good very fast. Eventually the SEC will add bowling and MSU could join Vandy in getting a head start on the rest of the SEC. It would sure beat getting our brains kicked in like we do in volleyball.
The Plantation has never won an SEC regular season Championship in ANY men's sport with an integrated team. That defines irrelevance.

Does that Japanese kid who wins all those Hot Dog eating contests have any eligibility left?
Think any of those women bowlers can kick field goals?

I was on State's bowling team in the 70's. It was a club sponsored by the union. Our sec schedule was what ever the football team 's was.

And Jackson is a hot bed for women's bowling. Heard news of a 13 year old who bowled a perfect game (no word on if the bumpers were up or down)
