It will end with 14 but in two years he has set two long standing records and holds 1 and 2 in that regard. You gotta hand it to Ray. We haven't seen this kind of futility in 25+ years.

He's getting 4 years regardless, even if we dont win a game next year.

If this shit happens next year and Ray gets a 4th year, Stricklin has got to go. We are pathetic at basketball right now. I would love to eat crow about Ray, but there just doesn't seem to be much light at the end of the tunnel

We will be improved next year b/c we literally can't get any worse. Then engie can bring up the stats and point to all the improvements. We are long way away from an NIT caliber team.

I honestly forgot we were playing basketball... It's not even a thought in my brain... This is how bad it's gotten.

I'm basically weighing everything on if he can pull Newman or not. It sure as hell doesn't look like he can develop talent. If he is unable to pull a legacy 2 hours from campus, then that should tell us all we need to know about his recruiting ability. I was ready for Stans to go his last year, but shit, this freaking sucks! I could careless if they cancelled the entire program right now. Take the money we wasted on coaches and put it to football or baseball

If my math is right, approximately $86,000 per win after two years.

That being said, I expect next year to be better.

Thank God anonymous internet sports message board posters are not responsible for the hiring and firing.

That light burned out in January when we started playing teams with a pulse. SS Ray has sailed, it's just a matter of time and depends on how much of a ***** Stricklon is. He needs to make a change now before this runaway train reaches the point of no return. No decent recruit is going to want to sign with us now after two shit seasons. The time to sell the new regime and an improving program is in the first 3 classes. Those are history now. The new is wearing off and the true colors are shining trough. Kinda like for Bucky in football.

The guy they hired is doing some of the things the Admin wanted him to do. By their view- Ray is in Year 1. He isnt going anywhere. And things will get better next year

But are 5 to 7 SEC wins really gonna be good enough or is that as high as Rays ceiling goes?

we have no idea at this point what next year will bring. If he goes 7-11 in the SEC next year based on what Ive been told- I'd assume he would return for a 4th season. Nobody expects another 3-4-5 SEC win season next year. We have finished rebuilding, and will have a full team. Time to move forward.

Coach, do you think ray has a chance at Newman? If he doesn't pull him, some of his supporters will lose faith on his recruiting ability. Even if that's not a fair judgment.

You sound certain. I would be with you if Ray had a previous job where he was a head coach and had a track record of success. He doesn't. This is his first job as a head coach. We aren't even sure if the light at the end of the tunnel is daylight or a freight train at this point. This experiment is more Croom then Cohen or Crean. Hope I am wrong but I see maybe 15 wins and 5 SEC wins. That's improvement but IMO should get him fired. Just my two cents but is more likely that it will happen.

He doesn't have a shot. Stricklin and Ray don't want to get involved in bidding war recruiting
