300 Blackout or .308 AR for Deer hunting in MS?

I am looking to buy an AR I can hunt whitetails with. Any thoughts?

    I was looking at the S&W M&P AR10

Just found this .300 Whisper article, looks to be better than the .300 Blackout

Stick with the 308, much better range and wide choice of ammunition if you don't roll your own. Use one of the other two only if the range is less than 200 yards due to the drop curve, or you want too use a suppressor.

Not a lot of 308 ammo on the shelves right now. I had a hard time finding ammo for hunting season this past year. 308 is a great caliber though

    I have plenty of .308 ammo. I already own 2 .308 rifles.
