    My New Setup

Shimano 3000 FJ. Almost went with the 4000 for more/bigger line possibilities but I figured 150 yards of braid was plenty for inshore. 7 foot H2o Express Ethos Inshore rod (medium action). I spooled with suffix 832 20 lb low-vis green. I actually wanted the power pro super slick but academy was out so I grabbed the suffix. Initially, it's a good looking, lightweight setup. All components have good online reviews so it should do fine. Think I might go to my parents neighborhood lakes to throw some swim-baits at some bass just to see how it handles.

I bet that reel is super smooth. I have a ton of h20 crank baits that I buy when they go on sale. Looks like I need to check into their rods.

Looks like a great setup. Let us know how it is after a few trips in the salt and a few reds.

That's what is going to be the make or break for the rod (no pun intended). Even though the rod has good reviews, it's the only thing I question. I know I can't go wrong with the reel.

Beast, I love the H20 baits. Academy did well with them. On the other hand, I bought a H20 rod, a bait caster though, and it broke above the real seat about 8 inches. It shot back and stuck in my chin. Took it back thinking I put too much torque on it, got a replacement, and it blew up also.
    Sorry for my review.

    Sorry for my review.
I read they had issues in their earlier rods but the ethos line reviews have been much better. We will see. If it sucks, I'll just get an all star.
