Value of college football teams
thought this was pretty interesting... What do you guys attribute the 80MM difference between TSUN and MSU?

good question. Iowa is valued at almost 5 times what we are. I would love to know his formula.

Updated one.
"Among other factors, the study looked at each program's revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections for each school."
I know we generate move rev than OM.

weird. the stadium is worth more than that. no clue how he's valuating this.

Even in the updated link, the article is from January 2013. Not sure what it would look like today, but it was interesting to note that OM lost $70MM of "value" between the 2011 and 2012 valuations while we only lost $3MM.
Odd numbers for sure. Would love to know more about how he's determining these valuations. Would also like to see his valuations following the 2013 season.

The one I linked is probably last years. My bad.

the author attributes a surge in Michigan's value by 18% in one year due to cash flow. I would be interested to see how the current renovation has affected the cash flow of the athletic department, and in turn the value. would the completion of the renovation (increased premium seating, and more valuable stadium) increase the overall value of the program?

Yes, it will dramatically increase the "value" of our program over the next few years.
I'd like to see where he's getting these numbers, because they seem very strange to me. Iowa State is worth more than twice as much as Missouri? Southern Cal. and Florida State's football programs are worth less than Kentucky's? That just doesn't pass the smell test unless they're using some weird criteria.
