    Nick Foles Eagles QB

Watching the Cowboys and Eagles reminded of a story I read a few weeks ago about Nick Foles Dad, Larry.

His dad grew up in Petal, MS and dropped out of high school, moved to Oregon for awhile and then moved back to Mississippi in the seventies and managed Shoney's in Hattiesburg and Jackson. Eventually moved out to Texas and opened several restaurants and a couple of years ago he and his business partner sold those restaurants for 59 million dollars.

Not bad for a high school dropout.

Thanks for sharing. I am from Petal and finished PHS in 75'. I had no idea that Foles had local connections.

a HS dropout in 2013 would never ever ever ever ever be a restaurant manager. things were different 30+ years ago.

Not true. I know of at least one high school drop out that manages a restaurant.
