Been talked about for several months, but the timing is poor. Pretty much forcing Auburn to let his son coach this season.

His son for this year. I see that going quite poorly. Cohen will come after Jans at years end.

Well and Jans doesn't like Cohen so there's that as well. Cohen will try to come after him, I just imagine Jans will tell him to 17 off.

Pearl elevated it - but I'm not sure that gets sustained with him leaving. He's a unique coach and personality that has won everywhere he's been.

They signed him to a 5-year deal.

Something tells me that buyout is going to be like the buyout we had on Arnett's "4 year deal".

Is this a complete surprise? I don?t follow basketball very closely; so to me, the average follower, it is a surprise.

I think Tuberville is going to run for Governor and Pearl wants to slot into the Senator seat. He has made enough money that he can focus on doing something else that might be more enjoyable to him. I always liked Pearl and thought he was good for SEC basketball, even though we rarely beat him.

So the portal opens up for Auburn players, right? We got any cash left for Keyshawn? I'm assuming that ship has sailed but it would be nice to add another piece to the roster.

He can't transfer within conference and be eligible this year. He'd have to sit out. Also, this has been in the works since before the buzzer hit zero on Saturday in San Antonio. I talked to a ton of Auburn fans that night that told me Bruce had probably just coached his last game. It was an open secret amongst fans, admin, players, etc that he probably wouldn't coach this season. Timing isn't great because it makes it look like he's doing it now so they have to elevate Stephen but this has been in the works since at least late July.

Seemingly a hint of a health issue reading between the lines.

It's 100% to go into politics. AJ McCarron confirmed that the other day with Neal McCready and Tyler Siskey.
