Blake Shapen is going to end up being the best QB in the SEC

This is just the first time it's been really publicized. This has been happening since NIL became a thing. It's usually in season for games and in season practice, never actually seen it for spring practice.
If Tennessee has a backbone, his locker is cleaned out and his crap sat outside the front of the building. Although, he's extremely athletic, he's not a difference maker. You don't pay a non difference maker top of the market prices.
-
And so it begins ...........
-
It’s cooked until they start drawing up pro contracts and adding settlements into for breach.
-
Throw him out. I thought Tenn won despite him.
-
Cool, you wanna sit out, team can cut you at any time during the season then if you don't perform.
-
Hey Bear sat out Joe Willy for an entire season fort having a drink. Just think more coaches need to be like him or like Deeds/
-
Tell him to hit the road and save all the money. He was decent last year but not what he was billed to be. He may be in line to be the next Jayden Daniels, but you will certainly lose the team catering to him.

Didn't Ole Miss players renegotiate during "Their Year" last year?

Does this tie in with the Jaden Rashada saga? Maybe there is a connection of contractual promises and bounced checks? Can you believe it, a now active Georgia quarterback has an active lawsuit against the University of Florida?
The name of the game of college football WAS covert money being channeled illegally to players. Under the guise of secrecy and deceit, issues like this rarely came to light. NOW the game has evolved from covert to overt money and nothing can be kept secret as proven by a contractual NIL lawsuit.
College Football will be dominated by overt money in the future. Covert money is something of the PAST. If an athletic program can not support a NIL contract, it will be at risk. Past powerhouse college programs may not function well in the OVERT ENVIORNMENT? Can Alabama and Auburn match Texas and Texas A&M monetarily? One more thing about OVERT MONEY, why do you think Dan Mullen is at UNLV?
FYI this monetary bullshit is ruining high school football also. Basically, Mater Dei Santa Ana CA, St John Bosco Los Angeles CA, and Bishop Gorman Las Vegas NV, have pumped so much money into their organization that no one is challenging them on the national level.

High school football in Georgia and north Atlanta specifically is becoming professionalized. Buford, Milton, Gainesville, & Carrollton and more high schools across Georgia are bringing in the top players in the state through NIL deals. Buford just dumped $60 million into a high school stadium. Gainesville ponied up right behind them. There's too much money in the game not to share some with the players, but there has to be rules and regulations just like in the NFL or dumb stuff like this is going to happen.
The financial part of it is complicated, but that WILL BE figured out... to me, the bigger problem is going to be the lack of fan interest. Nobody is going to care about high school recruiting anymore because your roster is brand new every year. That's a pretty big business now that's going to shrink considerably. And fans are going to gradually lose interest in their teams because their favorite players leave every season. You don't get to watch Dak develop over a couple of years and then make a Heisman run. Those days are gone.

Just to add to the direction of high school football. You talked about the Georgia High School football form of NIL and I believe you. At least the Georgia folks can keep an eye on each other. In Southern California Trinity League, if Mater Dei or St John Bosco need players, they raid the Los Angeles Metroplex.
A case in point is the starting running back for the Georgia Bulldogs named Frazier from Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California. Frazier is from Compton, 27 miles away from the school he played for. Private schools, in California, have vans that pick up athletes.
Also, Mater Dei and St. John Bosco have some NIL going on too. But, the ultimate slap in the face to the national high school football community is the Samoa and Fiji scheme being ran out there. How in the hell is a State athletic governing body going to investigate family connections on the other side of the globe?
The Los Angeles Times has published to get ready for another predictable high school season again. FWIW, I have sent Coach34 content in the past and I would love to hear his take on this content.

Oh high school football recruiting is dead now. It simply doesn't matter because even if you lose a top prospect to your rival the odds are they're going to transfer out and possibly even be at MSU in a couple of years anyway. No one pays attention to it anymore.
The best thing for MSU to do is try to get the best in state players IMO. Those are the ones that are most likely to stay committed long term. We can fill in the gaps with the portal because most of any class isn't going to pan out. But we can build a good core around guys like Kamario Taylor and JJ Hill.
If we were proactive at MSU- which we aren't when it comes to football recruiting- we would use that new school on campus and try to eventually develop a high school where we could steer top prospects basically on campus and basically turn it into a Mississippi redneck version of IMG. MSMS is already going to be moved there so the seeds are already planted.
I'm sure we would have fans that would be very vocal about how MSU doing that is wrong and how we should just do things by the rules. Idiots they are while they bitch about our 2-10 team.

Only a matter of time before this happens in Mississippi. Really has been happening at the MAIS level for years to a degree- see Hartfield Academy.
Only a matter of time before schools like Jackson Prep, Madison Central, Oak Grove, Tupelo, a DeSoto County school to be determined later, and maybe a school on the coast like Ocean Springs or Gulfport decide to get in on this too. And when I say get in on this- I mean ALL IN.
The Metro area private schools have taken all of the best players from JPS already.

The machine at Buford was built by my high school coach and a former player who was 2 years ahead of me in high school. When the coach was at our school, my Senior year we had a damn good team returning with an All-American QB. Our boosters put together a fund to pay for apartments for transfer players to live in and coach recruited a team to make a run for a state title. We destroyed everyone in our region, but still couldn't compete with the old power programs like SW Dekalb and Valdosta. That was 1990. Recruiting in high school football in Georgia is as old as the game itself.

This stuff is why now it is more fun to watch a North Dakota State, Montanna, South Dakota State, league during the season instead of this mess. I know they are playing the game on a smaller level and they are losing players, but at least it is more as it normally used to be, and they have tough players playing in bad weather at the end of the season.
Just looking for leagues and teams that still remind me of how college football used to be.
It is also a reminder, we really need an offense that is an equalizer on the field to compete with teams in the league passing us by on NIL funds.
Wait...we had that. But for now, anything that is different and other teams have trouble in one week preparing for.
