Msu WBB Win Last night
Double overtime win was really good to see. Big Girl inside has stepped up her game, she played well as did the time. Good coaching adjustments last night by Purcell. His best win this season for sure. Maybe he is "righted the ship", needs to finish the season with a few more wins.
-
When we gave up the lead and Vandy went ahead by 4 with 1:30 left, I thought we would crumble. But they rallied and fought which was really good to see.

Good win-but really shitty play at the end of the game and the end of first overtime. why not put both bigs in and have Jerk get a shot off with 3-4 seconds left. Our big girls were rebounding 60% of the missed shots.

Winning is all that matters. Vandy is a good team, might be Purcell's best win. I thought overall Purcell did a good job last night. Several times we fell behind and he made a few adjustments which helped our comeback and win in the road.

Sam is a good coach. He really is. And his recruiting is even better. He obviously has his shortcomings on the court, but the guy is 45. Schaefer sucked as a HC the first time. And honestly, had Schaefer had the pressure here that Sam has had from day 1 I don't think he would've been as successful. Schaefer quietly built for almost 3 years before anyone was even paying attention. Sam is just now in year 3. People are going to have to give him time. He's doing great with what he has and what was left to him. He obviously got hurt by the portal last year but he's building a really solid program. People are just going to have to be patient with him like they were with Schaefer.

Charlie Cr?me has our Women's team as a 7 seed. Shows you how strong the SEC WBB is. I think that might be higher than the men get seeded. 😳😳😳

I think both teams end up around the 6 or 7 line. Which honestly....not a bad deal. I'd much rather avoid a 1 for as long as possible. Especially since it'll be an SEC team out of all likelihood.

Madina Okot is our big and she is still learning to play the game. She had 21 points and 23 rebounds last night which is crazy.
I agree this was Purcells biggest win of the season, it's hard to win on the road and Vandy has a good team. We need to finish the season strong, we should beat Florida, Texas am and Auburn... we still have Vic Shaeffer and Texas left at home that will be our toughest remaining game

I really hope they don't have some huge ceremony to honor Schaefer. Just do what they do in the NBA, small video package at the first media timeout and move on. However, I know the cult will push for a pregame halfcourt ceremony and try to name the damn coliseum after him.

He's a former State coach. Nothing more. Make it quick and simple and move on.

I don't know that the cult will let that happen. I guarantee he will get the loudest ovation of the night. Because some have let a certain sect of fans run with this Cohen ran him off bullshit for the last 5 years. The guy made a decision. Like you said, treat him like any other former State coach. Video package at the first media timeout and move on.
Hell Doc Rivers won a world championship in Boston and that's all they did for him.

Okot is a star in the making, best since Big T.
First time Vic is back, right? Hopefully we respond with class. He put MSU WBB on the map.

I agree don't need to go overboard with recognition but Vic should get a little more than just "treated like any other past coach". Vic achieved a lot and made WBB relevant at MSU and erased a horrid history.

The only way you would treat him any differently is if he won a national championship. He didn't. Treat him like Stansbury and give him a chair if you absolutely have to do something. Otherwise, nice video package at the first media timeout and move along.

I have a feeling they will make a huge ordeal of his return

Yes she can definitely have the same impact Big T did. She's also more skilled.
Yep this will be Vics 1st time back, Blair is on their staff also

Yes, he made a decision, but it was based on Cohenz (and his wife's) BS; I don't blame the guy for leaving. Cohenz could screw up a one-car funeral!!
-
Cohen's biggest contribution was helping build back baseball while a coach. He should have remained a coach. He doesn't have the temperament or professional skills for AD. I would be willing to bet he is already rubbing the "bad genie's" bottle at Au-Barn!

Vic wanted to be back in Texas, not in Starkville. He made his choice and it wasn't us.
-
I don't understand the need to do anything for an opposing coach. He'll be trying to beat our team.
I enjoyed what all we did with Mullen this year but he wasn't on the opposing sideline.
Stansbury was an assistant when he was honored which is a little different.
