Happened Today- My Nice Shirt with the State Script

My two sisters and I were at a Germantown, Tennessee cancer clinic with my 87 year old Bulldog Mom who thankfully got a good report. The male older doctor, was accompanied by a young female doctor from the Mayo clinic who kept staring at my short sleeve maroon with horizontal white stripes and the cursive state script. At the end of the meeting regarding my Mom's future treatments, as she stood to leave, she said "I have to ask is your shirt Iowa State?" I said "No, it's Mississippi State and as our family has had season football tickets for 57 consecutive years, we know a lot about pain."*** The doctor replied, "Yes, there is a strong Mississippi State presence in this area." As a 1977 Mississippi State graduate who thinks that Jackie is our best coach ever, (even though the wheels fell off in the last few years), the interlocking MSU is still our best identity ever. and should return to football helmets and jerseys asap! Hail State!

I was in Starkville recently at a basketball game and it seemed like most fans were wearing the interlocking MSU. It was BEAUTIFUL!

Selmon needs to do the right thing and put it on the football helmet as the primary football helmet logo.

100%. Past administrations lied to fans for decades about the interlocking MSU for that lame MState logo. When asked, have you ever said you went to, graduated from or support MSTATE? NEVER! People say State or Mississippi State.

Yes, and "STATE" across the chest of the jersey.

He could cement himself as an all time great here by changing a sticker. It's that simple.

Be nice to survey bulldog club members on this issue.

Knowing we probably have an older fanbase, there's not telling what he outcome would be.

Every online poll ever conducted has the interlocking winning in a landslide.

    Probably wouldn't be any different.

"M-State" and "State" are goofy. Depends on where you are in the country, people think you are wearing...

    In New Jersey: "Montclair State"
In Colorado: "Metro State" or "Montana State"
    In Minnesota: "Minnesota State"
    In Missouri: "Missouri State"

Then in Texas, cause Addidas makes the styling the same, Texas A&M people always do double takes with our swag.

The Flying M, Interlocking MSU, and the M-over-S are true MSU brands. Yeah, I know some cats don't like Flying-M.

I have always liked it because it is an old-school throw-back that looks unique. But I honestly do not dislike any of our logos, past or present. As long as it belongs to Mississippi State I like it and I wear all of them.

Absolutely none of those is a competitor/peer of us in big time college athletics.

To my knowledge, no major university has branded themselves nationally simply as "State." Maybe Michigan State? In their respective communities/states, NC State or Ok State may be referred to as "State," but not nationally. We're known as "State" all over the Southeast, listen to B'ham or Atl sports radio and you'll hear us referred to as "State" as well as on the SEC network.

Mississippi State is just too long and doesn't roll off the tongue. Ever wonder why, even with the connection to the antebellum south, The University of Mississippi goes by the name, "Ole Miss?"

We need to brand ourselves nationally as "State." I'd do everything I could to go in with DP on there Fansville Campaign.

We have to stop thinking small.
