The college season needs to be condensed..

have to get rid of the conference championship games and start the playoffs sooner. There should never be 2 bye weeks in a season.

Also, a big F U to Sankey and the TV executives for changing the clock rules. Now we get an opening drive in the championship game that burns 10 minutes. And we get the dreaded Commerical-kickoff-Commerical trifecta.

I know it has to do with TV scheduling and the fall semester but having NFL and NCAAF overlap is the dumbest shit in the world. CFB should start Sep 1, NFL in mid October with Super Bowl right before the masters. Side note, when is the last good college championship? 2017?

TV pays the bills. They will get what they want.

Would much rather see basketball get shortened over football.

College baseball certainly needs to start 2-3 weeks later. Conference play should start about the NCAA tournament.

College footballs problem is the same as NASCAR. Too much emphasis on being the national champion only. Not enough emphasis on winning the individual event / game.

And NASCAR has become an afterthought.

Yep. Early 2000s everything felt like the main event. Mainstream coverage and chasing more causal fans instead of building your base ruined the sport. College football is very close to following a similar path. And NIL/Portal is just a symptom of the problem.

Return to promoting each individual game and focusing on it like it's your only care for the day rather than nonstop playoff advertisement and it will slowly fix itself. No one who watches State vs. Arkansas wants to hear about playoffs all throughout the broadcast. Call the game.

I didn’t even watch last night. Nothing but paid players and if I want to watch paid players I will watch the NFL.

I?m in more or less the same boat. Most people don?t want to watch minor league professional sports. I think the more obvious it becomes that college football is just minor league professional sports, the more it?s going to hurt its popularity. Having the appearance of being played by student athletes made it something different. If you?re not an alum/sidewalk fan of the school in question, why would you care about the ncaa football championship any more than you?d care about the G-League?

Didn?t watch nor care. I thought both teams were very uninteresting and it was just a boring matchup. Add along college football burnout from NIL, season dragging on, random Monday night, presidential inauguration and speeches, and it was just a perfect recipe for meh.

Nascar blew it by pissing off the fans by trying to price out the regular fans and putting in the car of tomorrow.

It doesn't help that the team that spent the most money wins the title. Kind of like MLB with Dodgers and Yankees. At least with baseball, you have teams occasionally win the World Series.

NASCAR should allow mods to the cars. That way engineers and mechanics can give their driver an edge.

The chasing casual fans aspect and Car of Tomorrow killed Nascar. They abandoned the North Wilksboro track that was home of some of their most extreme diehards for putting races in New Hampshire and Texas. When you abandon your loyal followers for fans that may or may not give a shit about you you'll see attendance wise what you see today. Nascar needs to do a better job advertising the party aspect of what happens at a track during a race weekend to draw more people in to the sport as well.
