Is it time to fire Zach Selmon?
We are approaching the 2 year mark of our AD. How long before an AD can be accurately evaluated? I'm honestly not sure.
1. He was brought in because he had fundraising experience. Has our fundraising improved at all? I've not heard of anything nor have I seen any evidence.
2. The most important thing in college sports is NIL and ours is average (at best).
3. Football, the sport he played, is an unmitigated disaster under his watch, there's no arguing that.
4. Baseball is a mess, although admittingly I don't pay much attention to that.
5. Basketball looks to be on very solid footing, so kudus there.
6. Maybe some of the other sports have improved slightly? I'm honestly not sure.
I'm open to arguments, but what I saw (in person) Saturday night was such a mess I feel like leadership should be questioned. From the big bell falling over, to low energy, bored fans leaving at halftime, to players that don't seem to care at all. The whole thing was just embarrassing.

I think it?s time for him and keenum. Not doing anything about lemonis and hiring his boy is not a good look. This whole deal in football is on Keenum. Leach dying is not but everything after is

I'll ride and die with Lebby b/c that's hand we were dealt and we need some stability in the football program.
However, if it is true that two or three top tier G5 head coaches interviewed, very interested in the job and yet none of them were even offered the position, then yeah, heads need to roll all over the administration.
-
Baseball is Ok right now. It's not where we want it to be but I wouldn't say it's a mess. Now yes Lemonis needs to do well this season but he's not on the hot seat.
And our fans need to stop complaining about baseball not being where they want it to be while they also want to stop sending money to it. That goes both ways.

Selmon needs to lead a dissection of everything we do football. And I mean everything. Put a team of people together who currently do not work here, to analyze and evaluate everything football related. From recruiting to fan experience to equipment to logos. Everything. Grass on the field, parking, garbage collection, buckling our chinstraps, everything needs to be analyzed and start making improvements on the little things. Little noticeable improvements will help keep from losing the fans. It?s time to move into the modern era of SEC football.

I don’t think it’s time to fire Selmon yet. Him and Lebby have been given a shit situation and then told to fix it….while neither of them had prior experience fixing something like this. Can’t blame them for that. They didn’t create it. Keenum should be gone. He will be after his triplets graduate.

Lebby can't be touched right now, there's just no way. But the person who made the decison which lead to this disaster, from the assistants hired to the portal talent evaluation to NIL funds to get decent players is clearly worth looking at.

The rot is much deeper, the administration prior to the current one has to carry the majority of the blame here.

And if the rug is pulled out from under Lebby like that he'll probably leave us to be an OC again. I want to know exactly how ****ed this coaching search really was. Did not one sitting head coach in D1 not want our job? Barry Odom was begging for our job and as far as I know he didn't even get an interview. He's 3-0 at UNLV right now. His team looks well coached and tough. He beat Kansas. The same Kansas that murdered UNLV in the bowl game last year.

When you say administration, you mean the Cohon admin correct? Just making sure I understand. If so, several have alluded to that but does the rot in the Cohen admin have responsibility for what we saw Saturday? It's an honest question.
Or is Keenum really the problem? I thought him being on the playoff committee was a benefit to us, but has it been (or will we be looked on favoribly in the future with that connection)? As I said earlier, I'm open too any argument at this point.

I will say this, I absoutely thought Jamie Chadwell was going to be our coach. If you guys recall a poster named Farmdog said it was happening. I personally know Farmdog and I know he knows Chadwells agent. I also have family connections with Chadwell's agent. I thought he was our guy too but something fell apart. It could have been on our side or his side, I honestly don't know. Either way, doesn't matter now, we have to play the ball where it lies and worry about corrections moving forward. I'm not totally giving up on Lebby but Saturday looked to me like someone that doesn't know what to do.

YES, the Cohen admin. He will, as we are beginning to see, be seen as the worst AD since Dudy Noble. He was forced upon the university by donors with the help of SS. So if you are really looking to place blame point the gun at our own. In the tradition of shooting ourselves in foot we missed and shot ourselves right in the ass with that one.

Some of yall have the most ridiculous takes about our baseball program.

Lebby has to clean house in December. DC is number one and OL coach number two. He busted on those hires. If he keeps everyone and thinks next year will be different we'll know for sure he ain't it.

I would love to know what really happened in that search. You still have to think that it wasn't an easy sale. Fired a guy at the end of his second season, brought in the true Air Raid an those personnel, so making that transition would be a challenge. And fired the next guy before his first season was over.

That reminds me last year, Bo Bounds was saying something along the lines that he thought we should look at Odom, and a couple other good coaches and he had reservations about Lebby with lack of HC experience.
Not that I listen to the show that much, but man looking back he was right on that one.

As I said, I don't follow baseball but reading the boards over the last two years people seem pretty upset. I'm fine with top 25 in baseball. Now that probably puts you as average in the SEC but again, for baseball, it's fine as far as I'm concerened. If everyone is good with that, than that's a plus for Selmon. So maybe it really is just football.

Bo is one of the ones saying Odom was begging for the job. He wanted to be a HC in the SEC again. Bo says we never interviewed him or even returned a call to his agent. If that's true it's a travesty. Odom is a good coach. Of course he's not elite but who the **** is these days. I think some of our boosters are too hung up on finding a Kiffin.

I was one who turned my nose up at Odom but he has proved me wrong at UNLV. Sometimes people learn and get better and it seems like he has

This is exactly what needs to happen. Our people have zero clue. It's insane. I just hope our people aren't like "we can't go back to the interlocking MSU because we just started with the script State."
I've never seen an organization that treats their fans like trash as much as MSU football does. On so many different levels.
