He could be the new Jurrangelo in college. He's a raw and developing RHP. He's selling himself short as a #8, when he could be a #1 in 3 years.

Bright side Charlie Foster and Travis Smith not drafted yet.

Cason's scouting write up seems to indicate that it would take 3rd or lower draft position to pull him from college, we'll see

Everyone says that, seems logical that teams don't want to waste a pick. Just a couple of oddities here:

    (1) Cason is 102 in the ratings. If he wanted to be an MLB pick, why let it ride to the 8th round when you could be drafted much higher and by your local club, assuming he like the Braves.
    (2) Enrolled at MSU
    (3) he's on his way to 100 MPH. Stock would go crazy at triple digits.
    (4) Boston drafted all college kids until Cason. No Seniors. Seems they are just trying to snag a lottery ticket early.

I hear ya- and you make great sense. But they dont make that pick unless they think they can pay his number.

314 players were picked in rounds 1-10 last year. 313 of those player signed. The only one that did not sign was an outfielder picked in the 10th round. That should tell you our odds.

Cason is not a done deal. Saw in a Boston site that it depends on saving money on signing other players. They like Brady Tygart at 12. They have to overpay to sign him too, he has another leverage year in Pigsville.

Also depends on Cason selling himself short, way short. Cason was considered a 3rd rounder or forget-it player.

I know the odds are against MSU. But maybe Cason hates the Red Sox as much as me. Hipster fans and ugly uniform. If he where the young FE, he would say, "i would probably entertain an unsolicited offer from a proper club like the NY Yankees, I'm a dog for now."
