DJ did not put a "thank you for the memories" tweet or a "San Francisco! Here I come" tweet. Unless I missed something.
I think he is going to negotiate with the SF Giants. They are going to need more than 600K to sign him. That's x10 less than a first round Collegiate junior in the 1st round.
DJ was projected as a 1st rounder this year, he would be a solid 1st rounder next year. Hopefully Lemons can help show that DJ would have better lineup protection next year. Plus, MSU would be top-10 with him in the lineup. Big Junior years did wonders for Cristian Moore and Braden Montgomery. Just cause you are draft eligible, does not mean you should take this deal.

McCarthys numbers from last year (1st year at a real program, 4th year in college): .291 avg, .485 slg, .383 OBP, 8 homers.
Jordans numbers: .354 avg, .671 SLG, .459 OBP, 20 homers.
Hujsak: .325 avg, .555 SLG, .413 OBP, 9 homers.
So I'd say McCarthy has a good shot to take another step and be close to Hujsak.
Who replaces Jordan? I've not kept up with the Portal too closely. are we still after people or do we pretty much know our roster for next year?

Reaching. It hasn't even been an hour since he was drafted.
Also, you don't draft DJ here without an agreement. they aren't wasting their 2nd pick of the draft (didn't have a 2nd or 3rd).
Is he getting his 4mil, not likely. Is he getting north of 2mil very likely I would say.
Giants have only $7,566,200 in Bonus pool money. Can go up to 5% above that with a penalty and SF usually does this.
Giants picked 13th in the 1st round. slot value Giants: $5,272,300 - But they should be able to save on that some.
Get him down to 4.5-5mil and then you throw 2-2.5 at DJ and squeeze in Sr's for the rest of the draft.

Nobody from the Portal can replace Jordan. MSU's only hope, if he does sign, is for Nolan Stevens to become a super star. He has the pedigree to do so, but I would like NS and DJ to play to together. Jordan would be a 2025 1st rounder, top-15 if stays another season.

If they pay, he's gone.
With no 2nd or 3rd rounder, that's 2M plus to put on Jordan.

DJ is gone. So is Conrad Cason.

Cason hurts because we would've had him for 3 years.

Not having those picks hurts their pool, it does not make more money available.

Even if they don't have more money available because of not having the picks, he's gone. They drafted him there because he has agreed to sign.

deals are negotiated ahead of time with Top 10 round picks. He's gone
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

10 rounds complete. Looks like Mershon will be back. That's a plus.
-
Well- he also got in the portal too. We could have to bid on him

That's a huge plus. Gives Cupp time to develop as a hitter, or if Cupp does take a leap forward, maybe move o e of them to 2nd (3B portal transfer seems to have a good bat, but if he sucks defensively maybe move Cupp to there in this situation?)

Correct. People don't understand how that works. But, there's no way they aren't gonna sing their 4th rd pick when they didn't have a 2/3rd. And they took all college guys round 4-10. They will find the money for dj.
