We'd be able to make it 3-2 on the year. They'd be livid.

I hate to tell y'all, 90% of their fan base wouldn't care. The season series is the most important thing and we lost that. And honestly, we don't need to waste pitching on Hoover. Throw midweek til you make it to Friday and if you're still in the tournament pitch the normal weekend rotation. Don't spend too much effort on Hoover. No one has ever gone from not hosting to hosting because of Hoover.

Well given how we haven't cared about the SECT in a long time, I kinda hope that doesn't happen.

The SEC Tournament format is AWFUL. Everyone is really in the same boat except for those that have to win to get the automatic bid. At this point I have no idea who we will even start in our first game of the SEC Tournament.

It's needs to be seed the teams 1-16 after this year and just make it single elimination. Use the Hoover Met, Regions Park, and maybe even Rickwood Field for day one. Basically whoever gets to the championship game will at most use four starters whereas now if had to go through the losers bracket we would need miracle games from Karson Ligon and Colby Holcombe probably.

Not to mention they have a game in Hattiesburg as well. That won't be easy.

Now that's something we can agree on. SINGLE ELIMINATION. That way you don't stretch your damn pitching so much.

Rickwood I was discussing that old park with someone on the board the other day. Some history in that old park. MLB and MiLB is playing there this summer Giants/Cards June 20th and Barons/Biscuits on June 18th according to their website.

I would love to see a game there. Oldest professional ballpark in the country.

The SEC tournament is a nothing burger that is really only for the conference to make money from TV $$$ and fan interest. Other than that it's useless. If your team is already safely in the tournament field there is zero incentive to go there and play well. Take your L or two go home and rest up for the real event the next week.

Same here! I'm a big fan of baseball history and in my travels I go to every old historical place I can find. Been to Rickwood several times and there is a ton of history there. There are some great old ball parks in the South with a ton of history. Rickwood, Smokie Harrington Park in hattiesburg, Grayson Stadium in Savannah, the old Magnolia Field in Meridian, where a lot of Negro League teams played and the list goes on, etc..and so many that have been torn down. So much history from the early days of baseball and the barnstorming days. The Yankees of Babe Ruth vintage played at a lot of these, the great Negro League teams. If I only had a time machine, lol!

Yeah unless your fighting to get in the NCAA tournament, hard to get worked up about not winning it. I mean you absolutely play to win but no reason to over extend players or get them hurt. Look at Arkansas in '21. They lost their #1 SP to injury there and their 1B, and may have cost them the National Championship.
