Btw, good win last night, lets get another one today. Stephens is a Dude!
We were able to land some good players in the portal we just haven't been able to land a Skenes or Montgomery.
I do think that having a legit pitching coach will help immensely with that. Especially the way guys like Khal Stephen have improved under Parker.

Stephen by far a great portal get. Also, you still have to sign some good freshman classes you can't ignore recruiting freshmen, it may not be the same but still it's a must.

I'm very concerned if we keep him as well. This should be a PEAK year and it looks like we will at best be a 2 seed in somebody else's regional. Will require a massive portal haul to be as good next year as we are this year. Makes me think we will likely never host again as long as Lemonis is here.

It's not about being "scared". That's all there really is to it.
It's not their fault that Highfill and Kohler got hurt. It's partially their fault that Hines won't adjust.
We don't know what next year will look like until after portal season ends.
If you have guys who can consistently bunt for hits, that is fine. Giving away outs is almost always bad for every offense.

Hard not to think Lemonis has to go. This team is not bad but as the best team in 3 years, it just is not good enough.

I could live with the results this year if I felt we were building. Next year is likely a step back from this year talent wise.

Talent wise, pitching, keeping
Stevens, Dotson, Pico, Hardin, Siary, Grant, Loftin, Ligon?, Holcombe?
If you can replace Dohm, Stephen, Auger, Davis, and Schulke with new transfers, should be ok

1. Arkansas 3.01
2. Tennessee 3.79
3. aTm 3.84
4. MSU 4.20
From dead last to 4th. Nearly 3 runs a game improvement, without our "ace".

Bama team batting is .311. If you just take their 9 starters it is closer to .325. They do have some pitching. This weekend will probably tell the tale of where State ends up in Hoover. Probably a Top 9 seed with Missouri still on the schedule though and that should mean Regional. Top 5 or 6 and very much in the Hosting talk. When is the last time the SEC had less than 5 in the Host Role?

Alabama is 7-5 at home and 2-7 on the road. There only two road wins against Ole Miss. They got swept on the road vs Kentucky and Georgia. Completely different team at home vs away

It seems like home field is a bigger advantage than it's ever been this year. Maybe not but it sure seems that way.

Absolutely incredible, the turn around! Just so impressive by Parker and the players for buying in and working!

Well, as Parker himself said- "most talented staff he has ever coached"
I said the same thing before the season plus just having guys in their 2nd year as opposed to Freshmen last season.
Improvement was expected. But without a doubt- Parker has made our pitching better.
It stings tho that Simmons, Dohm and Loftin are down while Holcombe is worse. This staff really could have been the #2 staff behind UPig this year

Man you got that right. If just those 3 injured were added to this staff, it would be something. Shame that holcombe hasn't made the jump the others have as well.

We're also missing Makhai Grant. He is a big loss for this year as well while he is recovering from Tommy John surgery.

If Parker isn't assistant coach of the year, I would like to see what someone else did. He took a pitching staff from worst to one of the better staffs and still doesn't have a true closer.
-
We didn't do a heck'uva lot in the portal a year after winning the CWS, other than Yeager. That's about what we're getting, one decent player and a bunch of average joe's.

When did he have surgery?
