Agreed, he had a really good Freshman year... his sophomore year wasn't bad but he started losing playing time and that's why he's leaving.. we will have some spots open that he can fill. I personally would take him over Fort and DeShawn Davis.

It seems we reach out to everyone but get very little return interest. Kugel is a guy I would think we would have a shot at. He would be a solid add. Great add really. We are in desperate shape.

This is my worry also. Last off season we were supposedly in the "mix" for a lot of portal players and Jans wasn't able to bring in any of the top guys.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again... last year, he was recruiting to a roster with 5 returning starters. This year he isn't, so this season is a much better judge of his portal recruiting

Also, we look back with 20/20 because Andrew Taylor did not pan out. At the time he was a big portal win. We just could not predict that would happen.

This could go one of two ways.

We struggle to get difference makers out of the portal and have a set back next year. Not necessarily out of the tournament but perhaps a 10 seed or play in game.

OR

Jans really gets to put his stamp on the program getting exactly the kind of guys he wants to go along with Josh, Cam, and Shak. We actually improve to a 6-7 seed, maybe even higher if it all hits right.

Not sure I agree. We needed 1 guy to be a legit 2nd weekend team and Jans couldn't pull it off.

Not sure we have enough NIL or recruiting panache to pull 3 starters. We will see.

Taylor not being able to function away from his GF seems like an unforeseen event. If he bought in, that woulda been a major boost.

Have added both Tarris Reed Jr and BJ Freeman today and removed Riley Kugel. I like who it's being reported we're talking to so far. But like always, we have to close with these guys.
