He played 5 seasons at Hillsdale Collage before going to Oakland. I assume he's out of eligibility.

He is out of eligibility. Also, he would magically suck the second he stepped on the hardwood for us. I mean people forget Eric Reid was a 40% 3 Pt shooter at SEMO and comes here and is a 24% 3 pt shooter.

Jans is only gonna play someone if they go all-in on D, so let's make damn sure our guard will buy in on D before we get Taylor 2.0

We would have played Taylor some if he wouldn't have had all the off the court shit as well as the simple fact that he could not freaking shoot.

Jay Wright had a really intereting take on the Oakland and Kentucky game. He said the days of super freshman winning big are done because of NIL. Players like the kid from Oakland (he's 24 years old) have been playing college basketball longer than the Kentucky freshman have played high school and college combined. NIL will keeps your good players around longer now and they basically become veterans and veteran players level the playing field against more talented younger players.

And by the way Oakland had one of our former players last night, Rocket Watts. He played good minutes and had 8 points I beleive.

He shot 40% from 3 this season and 100% from FT

To an extent, yes. However, Kentucky still should've beat them last night. Oakland had one guy(Gohkle) triple his avg and one guy(Cole) double his average. They had crazy nights and will likely regress back to the mean tomorrow. Add that to Shepherd and Wagner, both double digit averages, combining for 3 pts and you can see why this happened. Cal also had just a terrible gameplan. It seemed like every time they would get downhill they had either a open dunk, dump to the post for a dunk, or a kick out for a 3. Yet they would come down, run some unnecessary set that they looked confused on and would turn it over.

He played in 7 games. I mean Trey Fort shot 33% for 7 games too. Taylor could not get on the court because of Taylor. He wanted to run back to Marshall every weekend to go see his damn girlfriend and would miss practice half the time. And then would get mad he couldn't see her and skip practice other times.

Then say that's the reason. You said he couldn't shoot, and in the only sample we gave, he could.

    Arizona St. 0/4
    UTM 1/4
    UNA 0/2
    Southern 2/3
    Tulane 2/3
    Murray St 1/1

Now maybe he was turning it around 5/7 in those last 3 games. But he was also missing practice more and more during that time. I think he only practiced with the time like twice in between Southern and Murray. However, the kid still could not play defense and if you can't count on him to show up, at least try on defense, and be consistent then he can't play.

I don't think he could shoot, shot was too slow and a weird low release, but that is my opinion. I do not think he would've been able to get the shot off in SEC play.

Taylor ends his career going 224/629 (35.6%) from 3 and 75.8% from FT. While this isn't great, it's solid. For reference, Hubbard is 35.5% from 3.

I hate Taylor couldn't get his act together bc he coulda helped

Some veterans just get a year older, not always better. Some will plateau as good college players and never move to the next level. Will be glad when all these covid eligibility years are gone and we have college age players playing against each other again.

Playing defense is about hustle and desire. Never give up. If a player does this, he can play for Jan’s. Being lazy on defense and only care about offense isn’t a team player. I hate to say this on a message board but we need to recruit players who has a good IQ for basketball.
