And regardless, no one truly thinks of the play-in teams as in the tournament yet. Yes, you get to say you are and you are technically in the bracket, but no one cares about those games. The whole point of the tournament is that you do not assume anything, including the strength of the conference, you let the teams play it out. Every conference should have a representative in the 64-team field. It makes no sense to have some 16s and some at-larges playing. There is currently no logic to it, they just wanted more teams and did a bad job of figuring out how to include them.
This is false. Most people count the losers in Dayton has still having made the tournament. Remember that the tournament started doing a single game in Dayton in 2001 and the First Four in 2011, so it's not like it's some new thing that people are still getting used to.

Nobody (outside of some of our own fans) finds it questionable that we list 2023 as a year we made the NCAA Tournament.

BM labels this the "final update" but it seems like there could still be more updates: http://bracketmatrix.com/

We are in in 88/92 brackets and projected the 2nd-to-last bye. The only real suspense in the brackets is whether St. John's can knock out Texas A&M or Oklahoma for the last spot.

This is what I was worried about yesterday when I brought this subject up. Everybody thought we were in after beating LSU, but now I'm not so sure. But regardless, we're in now, playing fairly well, and have a shot at winning a game or two, depending on matchups. If we could just find a way to consistently make free throws, I'd be really excited.
There's someone in my head but its not me.

Exactly they literally call it the field of 68. If you're in the field of 68 you're in the ncaa tournament

Now a 10 seed in Dallas bracket vs Utah State. Winner vs Marquette/WKent. If we win we should have a great shot to the elite 8/ Meanwhile TAM is a 9 in same bracket ys Boise St then faces Houston. The 10 seed is a better seed

    I like this setup as a 10 seed better than a 9

Note that while many of the brackets on BM have us in Dayton, all of the top 5 most historically accurate brackets have us getting into the round of 64 directly.

It will be on Twitter and other social media as soon (or possibly a little bit before) it's on the show.

Q in your opinion where you think we wind up. I think we wind up a 9 seed but I'm not a basketball aficionado like some if y'all.

I predict we are a 10, but don't have to go to Dayton. I wouldn't be shocked if we get a 9 instead, or if we have to go to Dayton, but I think the non-Dayton 10 is the most likely.

I'm hoping we get matched up with Utah State or Nevada as the 7, because I think we probably win.
