Jans brought in 7 players this year

3 freshmen and 4 transfers. And only got production out of 1 of them by the end of the year. Thats a troubling thought for next year knowing that we need several new pieces.

We need to cut bait with 70 percent of the roster as it is so we need a massive haul in the portal

I'm still hot about not getting Taylor in on rotation. Hubbard is bad defensively too, but scoring matters. Our defense was crap vs good sec teams anyway

ETA... I actually think chol is gonna be a player

We need a massive haul without cutting bait. We're losing several already.

Jans ain't gonna win 20 next year. Hell, we may not even win 20 this year the way it's going. Next year is going to be miserable. Will be reminiscent of some of Rick Rays teams but rest assured we're gonna play great "D" *****

How in the hell can you know anything about next season before the draft and NIL season? Hint - you can't. We don't even have a schedule yet

It won?t be that bad. Hubbard, Matthews, Shak(maybe?) and Murphy. Better nucleus than Ray ever had

I think chol could be a player. We'll need to hit on some transfers. Jones is a really good defender

Jones, Cam, Shak and Chol are all offensive black holes. It will be more of the same with those on the court

Cam will be a 10.5 ppg guy. He's about 9.5 this season.

No idea what chol will be. Shak and jones aren't offensive guys, but good defenders. We need Murphy or someone out of the portal to be the 3rd scorer with Hubbard and cam. Obviously we have to keep Hubbard or we're in trouble

Chol is a project. He is 2 years away from contributing. Jones isnt an offensive threat.

Everyone you put on the floor should be a threat to score in todays game. Wish we could have held on to Quentin Post and Cam Carter. And we desperately need some wings that can step out and hit 3s

I'm ready to see Warren. An Alabama offer tells me he can shoot. Maybe we hit on another freshman guard

Get a grip. You damn well know what it's going to be like. You know he's not a great recruiter and we're not going to go out in the portal and bring in game changers. Role players, maybe. Game changers, not happening. If he can't get over the hump with the squad we had returning this year you're going to be very disappointed come this time next year.

Are people really getting tired of Jans? Wtf? I mean, the end of this season is disappointing so far, but being in the tourney hunt is awesome compared to the hell we were in with Ray and most of Howland's tenure. We need to keep Jans as long as we can. Dude is a winner, and he knows his weaknesses better than we do.....he'll address them, and he will keep winning. That's what he does. Some of you folks need to get a grip. Being upset and disappointed is one thing, but we don't need to run off a coach like Jans. That would be beyond ignorant.

Cam ain't a natural shooter but he can score. He had 18 yesterday as our 2nd highest scorer I think.

Shak can score. Jones can hit a few. Choi is yet to be determined.

Some teams didn't think Hubbard was all that good out of HS; see how stupid they look now.

Agree being in the hunt every year is something I can get used to. Yeah disappointing finish but UK last second shot and OT to top 15 team. We ain't to shabby. I remember the years watching everyone else talk about their team in March while I reclused back of the line. Nice change.

While I do expect to be worse next year than this year, with the transfer portal available you never really know from one year to the next until everything settles especially in basketball where 2 or 3 players can totally transform a team. Heck, look at SC. They went from basically the worst team in the SEC last year to contending for the championship this year. Basketball, by far, is the easiest team to flip from one year to the next. We have to do much better in the portal this year though than we did last year. The Andrew Taylor bust this year probably cost us 3 to 4 wins over what we would have had with another consistent scorer. Offense has been given such a huge advantage these days that its more important to have a good offensive guy than a good defensive guy. Jans is supposed to be a defensive specialist but we were still giving up 75+ in most SEC games.

I think he is a good coach, it's the players they just can't shoot!

Cam is a junk scorer. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But it relies on effort and that can be negated by the other team. Shak doesn’t even look for his shot. He’s disappeared for many many games this year.

We need a wing player that can shoot and help Hubbard out.

As it is opposing defenses are just going to have 4 guys in the paint and let Hubbard have his points because they know nobody else on the floor can beat them.

I don't see anyone advocating to "run off Jans". I just pointed out the obvious that we're going to suck next year and we are. He's much better at the x's and o's than anything we've had since Richard Williams but I, like many others here, question his ability to recruit at a level that will allow us to remain competitive (year in/out) in a league that is quickly turning into one of the best conferences in the NCAA. His ability to recruit, particularly in the portal will make or break him. We don't have unlimited NIL funds. It's going to break the bank to keep Hubbard and we've got massive holes to fill.
