Holding out hope that we can sign all of those WR’s. Hopefully Nabers & Coleman both slip through the cracks from LSU. You get those 2 plus Knox, Johnson, and Moore/Lofton and you’ve completely revamped that position group and have turned it into a future big time strength.
Also, Lofton has game changing speed as well but he’s not as fast as Knox. Knox is one of the fastest recruits in the entire country & is THE fastest recruit in Texas. Ran a verified 4.42 at The Opening and ran a 10.40 100m as a sophomore in HS. Also throw in that he’s got a 36” vertical at 5’10” with his speed. Lofton probably ain’t too far behind him though. You add that kind of speed to the WR room & then mix in some outside WR alphas like Nabers/Coleman/Johnson/Moore and we’re well on our way to flipping the script on WR’s here.
I think by 2023 when these guys mature we could have a special season. Need to hit on wide receivers this year and get the front seven on defense guys next year while adding to the offensive line this year and next.
With Rivals ranking coming in, Sawyer Robertson has been raised to a 94 composite QB.
Honestly, watching the film & seeing what his ranking is, if Summer camps & combines had happened this Summer, he may be even higher
Highest, best QB we've ever recruited
I asked you a few weeks back and you said it was too early for a prediction but any more clarity now to where you could give a good guesstimate of what you think this WR class could be? We need some serious overhauling at that position & recruits have to see little resistance to PT & a whole lot of opportunity in this offense. I'm anxious to see how Spurrier Jr & Nichol wind up FINISHING this class with everyone we're getting interest from currently.
MSU offered Ty Cooper from Louisville. It will only be a matter of time before he is in the boat.
So basically what you want & what you expect, the only difference is Nabers being in the "want" cateogry with Lofton replacing him in the "expect". I'll take either of those WR classes right now.
I'd really like to get Nabers but with our luck, I'm sure LSU will wait til the last second and throw him an offer and him take it. If you get him with those other 4 guys, then you've got a grand slam WR class. If you have to settle for Lofton (who's a severely underrated prospect and an absolute burner) to go with those other 4, then you've hit a home run with this WR class.
I kinda lean to agree with you too. I've watched Moore's tape several times and I really like him. He's a 6'3"-6'4" guy with legit mid-late 4.4 speed. And I like Buckhaulter, he's a big physical kid. But seems like in this scheme, you'd want as much speed as you can get and Moore seems to be a bit faster than Buckhaulter is. But honestly, I'd take either of them and be perfectly happy just from what we're used to recruiting and getting at WR.
