If teams don?t bring some sort of pressure we will do as we have done for the past few games and pick the drop 8 to absolute shreds
Will has shown he can beat pretty much any defense, it's up to the ol to protect him enough for him to deliver.
This is why it is so important for us to get some good OL in. If teams can get pressure on us with 3 rushers it really hurts our chances. If they can't, like AU most of the second half, it is tough on them.
Pray ****
Auburn played some man. The thing is that Saban won't back off his approach. Last week, Odom stuck with his. Other DCs struggle to stay with it. OL play is the key going forward. We're going to upgrade there a good bit. 3 won't get home much and that should open up somethings.
I don't think this will make us any better vs a loaded, well coached team like AL, but the rest of the schedule can be fun.
The 3-8 wont stop it unless we screw it up.
They have a much better chance of holding us to FGs with it though. The biggest key to stopping us is behind physical on the WRs and pressure. The 3-8 myth is dead
To beat the air raid, working the way it is now, you have to be able to get pressure with a 3 or 4 man rush. With 5 or more rushing, it's huge zone holes or man to man and our WR get open.
But that's what bama was able to do. Get pressure and drop 7-8.
But it's all moot if Will is going 24 of 25 passing in the game and smart enough to let the RB rush for 6-7 YPC.
They are either going to have to out score State or hope State stumbles on a few possessions. I will say this, they can't wait until the Second Quarter on offense to come alive.
Bama also is one of the few teams with the personnel to generate pressure with three. You are seeing teams be forced out of that with runs and short passes. Texas tech and leach would face three man fronts and he would gash them with the run until they came out of it.
Dillon Johnson is really getting to be a horse, that auburn defense was dead tired in the fourth quarter and he was gashing them.
