Another good opportunity for a quality win.
Mizzou has moved into the top 30 of the NET so we picked up a quad 1 win there. Florida is 31, so one spot away from another quad 1 win there.

I'll take it, but the NET is a laughably bad, mathematically invalid formula that the NCAA should abandon and apologize to all fans for implementing.

We are 1-4 against Q1, 3-3 against Q2, 3-2 against Q3, and 4-0 against Q4. That's just not a resume of a team that belongs in the bubble conversation. Again, though, I'll take it. If our athletic department cracked the NET formula and scheduled intentionally in a way to manipulate it (like Siena used to do with the RPI formula), massive kudos to them.
We pretty much have to run the table to even be considered
god some of you don't want to give it up. this team is going nowhere!
Yeah, keep this up and we might get to host a game or two in the NIT.....
It's been tough being so close, but that's part of my optimism for the future. We were playing 4 freshmen yesterday at the same time for stretches of time. If we don't lose 1 or 2 unexpectedly, those close losses could be solid wins with another year of experience. We seem to always get bit by a player leaving that probably shouldn't though, so who knows
People want to complain about the Ole Miss loss and I get the frustration with that, but losing that A&M game at home is just unacceptable. It is hard for me to believe that really happened. Win that and Dayton we would be in a much better spot at a chance for the tournament
Next year comes down to whether Stewart stays or bolts. If he returns like he should- we'll be tough. Stewart could go for POY next year in the SEC
Agree, DJ is key. He needs to return. He could end up in first round with another year, a NCAAT run and putting up video like numbers. DJ's upside is sick, he is still maturing but boy he has all the tools to be an AllStar NBA guy. When you are 6-6 can shoot, drive, dish, rebound and defend, well ain't many that can do all that.
LSU has moved up to 40. A win tomorrow night likely would move us into the sixties
DJ needs to come back for another year. His all around game has improved tremendously in the last year and another year of improvements could give him lottery pick potential. He reminds me of Kyle Anderson of the Grizzlies except DJ is more explosive. Both kind of play that slow game but they can shoot and if they get to the basket they know how to finish. The one thing DJ needs to work on is dribbling in traffic. He tends to dribble it low and it starts getting tangled in people's feet and turned over when he gets into traffic.
11-7
2 wins in the SEC tourney
And things will be really interesting come selection Sunday
That’s ALOT of ifs for sure... but these last 7 games are winnable . Wouldn’t be shocked if we go 6-1 and also wouldn’t be shocked if we go 3-4..
11-7 is the target. That'd likely give you a double bye.
Do that and win 2 in the tourney and you're in the finals.
I admire you guys that have held out hope for a postseason bid, but I can?t talk myself into thinking we have a chance. We are entirely too inconsistent.
That's gonna be tough.
Just looking ahead, it appears OM gets a full week to prepare for us while we have to play at auburn next Tuesday night. If we wanna get to 11-7, we basically have to win the next 4: LSU, vandy, at auburn, and at OM. If we lose 1 of these, we have to beat Bama, and obviously, beat SC and aTm too.
