This is nuts
Not surprised... I think another state legislature will follow suit next week
It's dick wagging by a worthless tech grad. It's ineligible to be made law in the special session. And there is no quarom to pass anything as you might have heard.
Just a politician trying to grab some attention for his base with no really ability to show any result for his wasted breath
OkSU people will go nuts too. All of a sudden, they are potentially mid major and that's terrifying to them.
D1 football will only be SEC, PAC, B10, and sort-of ACC
Kansas Basketball may slip out too, head to the Big10. That is probably too good a program for the potentially trashed out Big12
Texas and Oklahoma will bank in the SEC but will get swallowed up competitive wise IMO. But they see the Big 12 becoming irrelevant so it’s prosbly the smart move.
Don't agree they will go down competitively. They recruit North and Eastern Texas. That area is not becoming less talent rich, it's getting more powerful.
They will start sharing that talent more with SEC teams if they switch, but they have been doing that anyway with the Kleptoparasites of the current Big 12 like - Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma is more vulnerable than Texas. They could become Tennessee 2.0 very easily. Not a great recruiting area by itself. They depend on extreme cheating and network effects into Texas. Everything we know about Ole Miss, is done by Oklahoma but more shamelessly. From payments, sex trade, law enforcement corruption, academic fraud, to bag men.
SEC should not take Oklahoma, just Texas if we must expand. Or take Texas and an Eastern School - NC State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, or UNC. We already have Arkansas and Missouri, there is no need for a another remote college.
Austin is an easy trip for everybody, thanks Southwest.
Consider reviewing what happened in England when 6 Premiere League teams were going to bolt with Spain and Italy to form a Super League? The British Parliament stepped in? Granted FIFA put a lean on them also.
Ugh evidently you didn't... It's just posturing. Nothing can legally be done.

House Bill 298 — filed by Rep. Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock— has more than 30 co-authors but is effectively a symbolic move to express the lawmakers’ displeasure. The bill is unrelated to any of the topics placed on Gov. Greg Abbott’s special session agenda, which means it’s ineligible to be passed into law. - Texas Tribune
