Well... That's two losses
Good publicity though
I'm guessing Kiffin won't coach in this game & USC will pull out.

Yep Kiffin will not be at Ole Miss in 2025.
I'll take the over. I think he'll build towards just enough success that they keep him around for a while, especially considering the experience they just had the last few years. But I don't think he'll be successful enough to jump to a top 20ish job. Maybe he makes a lateral move to Arizona State when Herm retires, something like that, but I would bet on him hanging around in Oxford for a while.
I'm not sure why USC scheduled this game.
I don't see the upside. They already play Notre Dame every year, Bama some years, & play 9 conference games.
Why risk this?
The only way Kiffin coaches those games is if he's coaching USC again.
I do wish we'd schedule a home and home with a prestigious program though. I'd love to see us on the same field as Notre Dame, Florida State, Penn State, Miami, or Michigan. Those would be some fun trips for our fans. Plus they'd be as close as you'd get to a sellout at DWS.
I don?t think the people on this board realize just how much Freshwa.... errr, I mean Kiffin fits in in Oxford. If he is winning, I don?t see him going anywhere anytime soon.
To the original point. My personal opinion, if he?s not coaching the OM team he?s been a bust and his head coaching days in Power 5 are done
I bet neither current head coach will be on the sidelines in one, if not both games.
I used to be a USC fan when Pete Carroll was there and became very tuned in to the USC scene. Thru USC's playing history, they have only played 3 lesser FCS type teams. The teams were Arkansas State and Idaho St in 2015 and Western Michigan in 2017. The Los Angeles sports public publicly humiliated the university and very few showed up to watch. Those games were not seen as legitimate and worth paying attention to. The mindset is schedule and if you stink be exposed? Also its better to loose and make money than win without profits.
I hate the bears as much as anyone, I would love to play USC.
The idea of USC coming to Starkville would be awesome. I hope we are pushing for a game with a big name program.
The name of the game is recruiting and Tucson offers nothing. Tucson can't even provide much talent for the local Pac12 team? The two starting quarterbacks for Alabama and Clemson in 2021 will be from Los Angeles? The most talent rich city for high school football is Los Angeles with only two D1 programs. Los Angeles talent has to leave home because of circumstances. The Los Angeles metroplex has a population larger than the population of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas combined. This is a great strategic move for a SEC team to compete with teams like Boise St and Arizona. Great to make inroads in recruiting?
Tuscon vs. the Coliseum?
I wouldn't drive to begin with.
I'd fly into San Diego, catch a baseball game or two. Drive up to LA watch the game. Catch another ball game and if I had enough time I'd go up to San Fran and go see another ball game in just an amazing ball park.
Now, the bears are going to get the shit kicked out of them at the game, so maybe I should go regardless because my 2nd favorite thing to watch on the weekend after a MSU win is a bear loss.
We cannot schedule games like this as it would it might cut into our hopefully 4 yearly wins against cupcake OOC teams ( some of which are not even worth the co$t of the trip to Starkville). Don't forget those 4 OOC wins plus 2 - 6 in conference games ( 1 win must be against UM) and we are bowl eligible. Whoopee! Why, some on here have already stated 5-7 or 6-6 in Leach's first year will be ok. With our usual OOC schedule, if we don't go at least 3-5 or 4-4 in the conference to regularly go 7-5 or better yet 8-4 our year is a failure in my eyes. Hail State!
