OM will be very good next year. Idk about #18, but they have a shot at 8 wins.
That's amazing. I guess they're counting on Corral performing well, and defense getting a lot better. They probably will do well on offense; they did last year. Hard to believe the defense will recover that much.
I prefer Ole Miss have high expectations going into any season.
Their defense isn't going to be much better, and I could see their offense taking a step back as well. It's only going to get harder for Kiffin to keep Corral's head out of the equation with a year of film for opponents to study and his safety valve in Moore gone.
They won't be any better than us. They weren't this year.
ESPN loves Kiffen. He gets extra pub from them any chance they can give it.
Sad state of affairs when stuff like that enters into the equation, even for an a'hole like Kiffin.......
Their offense will be very good. Their D still wont be very good. Until they start recruiting difference makers on D- it wont matter. But he will get them bowl eligible again for sure
OM has 4 shitty OOCs that they should win.... plus Vandy and Arkie (both at home)...
6 very likely wins....
at Bammer is an "L"..... 6-1
Remaining:
@UT
LSU
@AU
ATM
@MSU
They could win 2-3 of those games.... That'd be a top 20-25 team in the SECW, IMO....
Ole Miss will be pretty good next year because they're really good at QB.
HOWEVER....
They'll be worse on the OL, at WR, & at TE. They had two top 3 round difference makers at WR & TE this year they'll have to replace.
Plus, as someone said, Corral is a head case & Kiffin has never sustained anything, anywhere. So history & track record would suggest that the longer he's there the more likely the train runs off the rails.
My guess is that they win 8 or so, Kiffin leaves for a blue blood (OU, Michigan, Penn State, or UCLA) could all be open, & OM starts to slide because they are so dependent on their QB & don't even a replacement that's even remotely close
Ole Miss was a 7-5 / 8-4 team last year if they played a normal schedule with their 4 normal OOC opponents. They recruited a couple of above average defensive players from juco and I’m sure that freshman DT from New Jersey will be better than the trash they have been playing with on defense. I expect they will win between 7-9 games. They will be one of the best offensive teams in the country again. Their preseason ranking Is not outrageous.
OM lost their two best receivers. They didn't have anything special behind them. I see a step back there. That great offense beat us by a score at their place, because we fumbled in our end zone trying to score. The defense will still be trash. Easy schedule doesn't make them a good team.
With a normal schedule, we were a 6+ win team ourselves last year.
You and I finally agree on something, I think last year because OM was so improved from the previous years that everyone thought they were better than what they were...Hell, they lost to a bad LSU team and would've lost to Texas AM had they not used Covid as an excuse to take another L. They will be very close to what they were last year....
They won’t be as good on offense
And they will have to be better on defense. Which isn’t saying much
With their schedule 5 wins is all but a given.
Floor is 5 ceiling is 8
They have one key.. Corral can’t get hurt..
