I've been to California 2 times in my life, and I'm convinced it's the worst place on Earth.
I enjoyed California the times I've been. Avoid LA and SF and it's not so bad. Wouldn't live there due to the taxes and high cost of living, but it's not the devil.

I lived in Los Angeles for 2 years in the mid 80s. Met a lot of fine people, who are friends to this day. Most of those people have moved out of Cali cause they couldn't take it anymore. Sad.
