Well tbh the same thing was said about Leach.

If Leach turns out to be a disaster you can't let Cohen touch the next hire. He clearly just doesn't get what a FB coach needs to win in the SEC at that point.
You have to fire Cohen first and hire a new AD. That takes time... traditionally very few programs do both in the same year.
Then of course you have to ask 1) who'd be picking then next AD (if it's the same people that picked Cohen why'd we think the new AD will be better?), and 2) do we really trust the new AD to get the hire right? Most coaching hires are failures, most of the rest are mediocre, and only a few are really "good" hires that move the program up a peg.
Cohen honestly didn't really do any grave sin. In '17 he went to the AD that hired Mullen and asked him what he'd do, got told to hire a P5 OC, and so he did. Can't blame him for trying to replicate the best hire we've ever made. We all thought JoMo was great till we saw the results on the field, so I can't blame Cohen for liking him either. He also tred to hire Day before Joe which would ahve abeen a great hire. Then he correctly saw the flaw in hiring unproven coordinators and tried to hire a proven HC- Napier. The drama post Egg Bowl happens and that falls though through no fault of his own. Then he finally gets the greenlight to make a move and he gets a more proven winner than we have any right to get- Leach.
If Leach ain't it I can't fault Cohen for going that route. I still haven't heard who this board thinks he should have hired in January 2020 instead- all the good names were hired already and Napier turned us down. On paper Leach is far far better than anyone else we could have gotten. Clawson is the closest but he ain't won 2 National Coach of the year awards at 2 different schools, has he? Ironically Freeze might have been the best coach available, but he hadn't had this breakout year, has a ton of baggage Cohen hates, and the SEC wouldn't allow it anyway.
The only real mistake I've seen from Cohen is to think of hiring Joe Judge. That one came from left field and makes no sense
If I were him, I'd want the South Carolina job. SEC, Eastern division, rabid fanbase, big stadium, close to Atlanta, close to North Carolina, not far from north Florida, tons of players to choose from.
So you're saying we have a good AD waiting at GA Southern for us to call? If he's actually good I'm fine with kicking Cohen to the curb...

He definitely should know the lay of the land and have some good ideas to improve things here, BUT he has no hiring record and we have no clue if he'll make good hires. Maybe Keenum or the Cigar Boys have talked to him over the years and can look back on his resume of what coaches he liked, but as a fan he's no better at hiring people or fundraising than any other AD in the Sun Belt
Hugh Freeze and Arch Manning gonna lead Mississippi State to the promised land.***
It would be hi-****ing-larious is we hired Freeze. LMAO!! I?d still despise him but I would definitely cheer for him ironically.
It's football. We wouldn't be hiring for a chaplain. Besides if you think Bama and Clemson (just to name a few) don't cheat then you're very naive. Also if you think Freeze was the only coach, current, past, or future that used women to lure recruits again you'd be wrong. Freeze is a great coach minus the baggage. The only reason he was blackballed is because he was caught (beating Bama nearly 3 years in a row at Ole Miss didn't help his case). If he cut out the escort business I'd love to have him here.
Lastly, touching on another point I made. All the big boys cheat. You're not going to win in college football by playing the morality card. Look at 2010 for a great example.
