Faculty and staff are obviously letting us down***
You know I always said that if I won the lottery I would make an endowment for the university to spend on croots. However I fear that even they would mess it up and brackey would rat everyone out
Washington state is beating us!
We could double our budget and not see significant improvements......We are who we are and we're ALWAYS going to struggle competing against the vast majority of teams in the SEC......
In other news- Bruce Jenner was named Woman of the Year
That's pretty surprising about Ark and Auburns places.
Arkansas is getting fleeced!
The wisest money spent on recruiting is under the table.
We all know Ole Miss's budget is way more if you count illegal payments to players.
It is pretty sad that our "arch rival" 82 miles away spends 1.5 times as much as we do on recruiting. We deserve what we get. What's even worse is we could double our budget and still be under KY. Think about that.
Mason Smith was / is just an over rated “internet” recruiting guru. We don’t need him..***
I disagree. Doubling our budget would go a LONG way for us.
To me there is very little excuse for us to not recruit better in football. We can recruit well in the other sports. Football all of a sudden it's one excuse after the other. Even with the NIL it's going to take us a few years to get organized and will take a football coach that prioritizes recruiting like Bob Tyler did.
Ark spends 5 times what we do and our composite recruiting ranking is the same? Geez.
I question the validity of these. For example, the article says one reason uga is so high is because it doesn't have its own jet and every flight is chartered and paid for.
FY18-FY20 was mostly the JoMo era.
JoMo barely recruited outside MS - it doesn't cost much to recruit when 2/3 of your recruits are in-state, and 89% are within MS/AL/LA/West TN (18, 19 & 20 classes).
Not defending being last by any means - it just makes sense when you look at where we were recruiting during that time period.
They don't have the hotbed of raw talent in their backyard that we do.
I would imagine if cornered and pressed, that would be part of our administration's justification - that we have more talent closer to home, so it doesn't cost nearly as much to establish a board and lines of communication. Doesn't matter though when the cream of that crop gets poached by Alabama and LSU.
