Someone needs to tell Paul Jones it's not a "play in" game. See his free article that dropped 3 hours ago on genespage. Also calls it that in his article that posted 5 minutes ago. Just win, Baby, said the late, great Al Davis. Hail State!

11 seeds have made it to the sweet 16 in 10 of the last 12 years.
We are in because if we win we keep advancing. Those "out" can't ever get "in". It is also true that we have to win in order to be the 11 seed in the field of 64 as the tourney is drawn up.
Complete BS that an 11 seed has to play another game while 12-16 seeds in all other brackets don't have to? Can anyone explain that so it makes sense? Answer is no. Stupid.
If we have to rely on 3 point shooting, we're in serious trouble. Hopefully, we can work the ball inside to Tolu and others.
Does anybody know what the thinking is in making two 11 seeds play in the play-in game? Why not have both play-in games involve 16 seed teams?
Lets make one thing perfectly clear, if the bears ever make the tourney and play in this game, it is most definitely a play in game to make the tourney.
We are in the tourney.
It counts in the record books as making the NCAA. We are now up to 12 appearances. Doesn’t matter if you are a 1 seed or a 16 seed. Win or lose it won’t be taken away even if some of our “fans” don’t like it.
The explanation I heard was the other lesser teams got automatic bids so they don't have to have a play in. Stupid rule.
They will not do it for football. The highest ranked teams will be seeded accordingly. Stupid to not reward the best teams. Put those mid majors in a power 5 and they ain't winning the conf.
I'm expecting the game preceding ours will go to about 10 overtimes.
