I guess George County has swung for the bad guys...
Never said it stopped. I just said it is back in full swing. They ramped it down some but they have gotten full wool now that Lane is there. They think they are made out of Teflon again. The worst thing that could have happened was Rosebowl exposing Freeze. Once that happened the NCAA quit turning over rocks. There was plenty left to be exposed that never saw the light of day.
Dortch was going wherever Daniels went. If we would've gotten Daniels, Dortch would be committed to us too. That's why Daniels was such a loss, because he was a 2 for 1.
I don?t know how I would feel about a kid making their decision solely based on where someone else signs.
I'm not worried about the 2022 in-state class. We are set up to do really well in-state, i'm more worried about out of state schools than the bears next year for the kids we are going after.
We usually get our share of in state kids... to me the real key is what we do out of state... the 50th ranked kid in Georgia, Florida and Texas is equivalent to the 10th ranked kid in Mississippi..,, kids from those states are light years ahead of Mississippi kids on the offensive side.
We'll be fine in-state next year. We won't clean house, but we never do. We'll get our fair share of kids, OM will get their's, and the bordering SEC schools might grab a couple. Is what it is.
We've got 2 from Texas and 1 from Florida this year. And going forward it should be more. There were 19 different schools that grabbed a Top 50 recruit in Florida this year and Texas is at an all time low grabbing high ranking Texas kids. Now is the time to make in roads there.
The NCAA was never going to let any proof that a member institution was setting up high schoolers with escorts see the light of day. Pulling on that thread leads nowhere good for anyone all the way up to the very top. You could say Steve teed up OM's and the NCAA's out for them, but the real story wasn't and will never be allowed to come out.
