Sadly this is accurate. We just let him retire in a few years and hopefully we can hire a good coach.

We're simply funding Howland's retirement. He's just riding it out.
College basketball is on the decline in popularity, and in interest beyond the high school level.
I'm done with Howland.
When we came out of time outs we scored. We had no intensity on either side of the ball. No emotion, and a total lack of fight when they punched us in the mouth. At some point players need to be embarrassed when they only show up when they feel like being there.
Now for Howland I?m probably sitting a few guys in the middle of this game because he has to make a point that heart and effort is on them as well. But at the same time he (Howland) got his handed to him as our players did on the floor. Plenty of blame to go around and this has been a problem the last few years. See I have an issue playing guys when they only want to play when they want to play
If you think we can't get a better coach than what Howland is right now, I don't know what to tell you.
What?s your take? You post 25k times a week, and your posts are spot on?? Who are you? You ever strap on the maroon and white and play....then sit down and stfu! Giving a **** and getting after someone?s ass is not hard, but you already know that bc you?re an all-American poster on ED!!
Everyone is frustrated. It?s maddening. But I seen a few blame only coaching. This is a total program meltdown and it?s happened a few times. At some point players need to be engaged but I can?t help for the melt if Howland sat some guys in critical moments. That?s what needs to happen and it should of happened the last several years.
Look we aren?t a Top 10 team but we deserve that effort from coaching down to the players. At some point coaches need to hold players accountable and I don?t think we get that but at the same time if Howland does the melt would be epic. My thoughts are I?d rather lose by 30 with players engaged in a game than to melt for stretches that we have seen this year.
Some probably need to pick their poison but I guess it really doesn?t matter if we don?t hold our athletes to high level of effort
Meh. Who cares.
Let's face it we're a mediocre, boring team that's hard to watch.
State grad here, 57 years old and I know I haven't suffered like some of the older folks on here with watching some bad teams over the years but geez this year is total crap. I had a quadruple bi-pass 18 months ago with multiple hospital stays dealing with the side effects including a collasped heart graft. And on top of that, dealing with Covid and this crazy political BS. Football sucked, men's and women's basket ball is sucking and I hope to God that baseball shows some type of freaking pulse! Until I see some improvement in the teams we put on the field and the one's coaching them, I'm checking out for a while to deal with more important things like staying on the right side of the grass. MSU sports will be the death of me!
And in the press conference we had at least 1 player say as such about lack lack of effort. But yet we have athletes demanding to be paid with the NIL while not demanding effort from themselves. Ironic I think
Bingo. We literally screw the pooch every single time we have had any kind of momentum since that punch thrown in Hawaii. We have missed the tourney I think 2 maybe 3 times by one game it feels like. We win a couple good games and then we lose two crazy unexplainable games like UM and aTm. I love MSU, but I never forget we just always let me down.
