There should be some kind of checkbox to do this automatically when ordering season tickets. I think most of our fans would give what they're able to give if it was that easy.
We've never had 15,000 people give 100 a year to the bdc. Your can hope but it's not likely.
Agree HomeDog? this has to be a constant effort to establish a new normal.
This is the game. This is the way.
Our mentality has to be like ants (strength in numbers).
How many members do we have on this board? Why not charge everyone $20/mo and give it all to NIL? SixPack should do it too. Instead of talking about it, why not get involved? This board has a lot of tough talking fans. STFU, get involved, and then start bitching when we suck ass! Just saying, don?t be apart of the problem be the solution!
We talk about professional sports on this board too. Change the name, do whatever needs to be done, but make it happen.
"Disclaimer: Elitedawgs is a privately owned and operated forum that is managed by alumni of Mississippi State University. This website is in no way affiliated with the Mississippi State University, The Southeastern Conference (SEC) or the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)."
We could do it right now without changing a thing. Would be suicide for the board unfortunately because of our fanbases mindset, but maybe could do a "paid" sub forum or something. maybe recruiting thread could only be to BI members or something.

This would be great, but it would be split among other sports. I earmark mine for football,MBK, and baseball.
$6mm divided by 85 is roughly $71k/player, so I think C34 is right?.$10-15mm/year is about right to compete in the SEC.
Agree.
I think the $20 would grow (some people would give more) and the 25,000 would grow.
This should be our main focus in NIL - signing up people for monthly donations. Constant growth , like a business. The effort never ends as some would drop off, some would add? constant churn.
Realistically I think you only have to pay 35 players anything "significant". The rest are probably more like 5k per year + scholarship... but yeah the superstars are probably costing 250k+. I think 8M would be a healthy amount and is doable with the right leadership.
The math is easy. The hurdle is getting folks over what the sport has become and having them engage it on the new terms.
Edward I agree. However, don?t you think if for instanc, the NIL ?hired? sports admin interns to do 2 things
1) set up tents at every event to sign people up
2) on weekdays, cold call every person who has ever graduated from State to ask for a $10 - $100 per month commitment
That they would get good results.
It is like any sales - call 100 people, sign up 15 ( or whatever the math is).
IMO, Our way is to get small donors ( like me) involved.
I would be against changing the rules.
If you tie it to Miss State you are also tying it to Bama and Georgia.
Don?t make it easier. Find a better way so they have to do the same thing (hard way - one fan at a time?
What does "connected to the university mean?" We need to push that envelope. Take our concession rights, merch rights, advertising, corporate sponsorships etc and lease those rights to the Bulldog Initiative for $1 a year. Let BI use that $8 million or so in revenue that those things produce annually as their base and fundraise for more. The new SEC Tv will more than replace it. We are gonna have be creative to stay in the game.
Wait, yall don't contribute already?
Personally, I think it would be legal. You see rights assignments and non-profit arrangements like this all the time. Think of a county baseball park that has a youth league that they "lease" the park to. The youth league sells the scoreboard to Coke, makes money off the concession stand, gets local businesses to sponsor teams, pays the umps, buys the equipment, and does some of the basic maintenance. The league benefits by having facility that generates revenue and the county benefit buy having the league available to the community. NIL could be done the same way.
I?m pretty sure that a large majority of ?know it all?s? don?t contribute at all, but by God they come here to tell you what needs to be done from their high school playing days. Plus, they research all coaches on their iPads to justify their message board badassery while peeling a few off on Pornhub!
It?s almost worth not paying for season tickets, but making a contribution to the NIL instead. Your season tickets and the money you spend on a weekend are worthless if the on the field product is horrible. I would rather sit home and watch us win/compete then waste money on going to see a shit show! Financially, you?re better off contributing to the NIL than buying season tickets, hotels, meals, & tailgating.
25,000 alumni donating $1k per year is $25mm. How much do you spend for 6-8 home games in one season??$6-8k per season if not more?
Another idea: If you show a receipt for a Bulldog Initiative donation, you get credit in seating preference as if it were a Bulldog Club donation. I think that's distinct enough to get away with in the rules.
I'm sure Charlie is also talking to our NFL Bulldogs.
We said what? We need 10-15 million?
If Dak, Elgton Jenkins, Cross, Chris Jones, Simmons, Sweat, and Slay donate 1 million apiece that's 7 million right there. They could probably negotiate that into their contract and let NFL teams fund it.
Add in all of the other good ideas and we're on our way!
