No excuse to not have a packed house.
Is anyone else bummed we play Bama next? Can we skip that game? I want us to build off momentum and see us continue to make progress against beatable opponents. Not to mention its a bye then Bama.
Have we ever used a bye week to our advantage? Seems like every time we have one we come out flat footed.
We really need to get healthy though. Even if we come out flat footed, at least we should be healthy.
That being said, I'm hopeful it's different with Leach because he simplifies. I think many coaches over complicate things with an off week & that causes the team to play slow.
With Leach, I think we'll just work on fundamentals & play faster
Packed house or not. Doesn't matter. Bama will roll again. I don't think we get shut out like last year. We will score a time or 2.
In the near future, though.....when Leach gets his receivers and the QB at the level that he got Gardner, Graham, BJ, etc....He has the offensive scheme that can beat Bama, if the D gets more than a few stops.
Bama is #1 for a reason, coaching, talent and tradition. Not seeing this as a close game, I just hope we don't get anyone hurt such as Rogers.
Not sure anyone other than Georgia will have a chance beating Bama at least in the Sec. One thing about a Saban team is they get better every week.
A packed house does matter.
It's a national tv, ESPN night game.
First, recruits will be watching. Need a crazy environment. Second, if it helps us just be within 14 in the second half it matters. The longer we hang around the more eyes are on the game.
Also, Bama is not invincible. They beat fla by 2 points. This time last week everybody on here said they are not what they normally are.
"Also, Bama is not invincible. They beat fla by 2 points. This time last week everybody on here said they are not what they normally are."
Know way I was saying this, also I said Bama would win by 3 Td's easily, they only get better each week. It's gonna be ugly.
Define ugly in terms of score
It depends Gun, I'm not seeing us stop Bama's offense, I also see Bama playing a tight 3-8 zone defense daring us to throw the ball over the top. Bama has so much speed on both sides of the ball. I'm really impressed with #34 Robinson, dude is a man playing against boys. Also Qb Young, amazing year after year the talent they have for offensive schemes.
I'm hoping we could win but I realize that is a pipe dream. Oh I was surprised we beat the Aggies, they have problems.
I think it's more of a 38-17.
I just want to move the ball against them honestly. We have looked so putrid verse them ever since we beat them in '07. Moving the ball would mean a lot to me, even if we settle for some field goals that would tell me a lot about this O.
I really think Will is seeing the field now. Bama is going to run the same defense that everyone else has been running against them. When you see the same defense week after week, the repetitions makes you learn and you just get better. Eventually with the talent Miss State has DC's are going to have to try something else. You learn how to fight by getting your ass kicked and when you get your ass kicked enough you learn how to fight.
I think Saban will come out and see if his DL can overwhelm our OL first and if that doesn't work go to zone.
35,000 MSU Fans 20,000 BAMA Fans(half of them from Columbus/Meridan/Tupelo/
And of the 20,000 Bama fans 18,000 of them never actually attended the Univ. and buy their ?A? attire at Walmart. It really cracks me up when I see a Bama fan with a ?A? hat on with sleeveless shirt, Mullet, some teeth and a Marlboro hanging out of his mouth. I always want to ask them what they majored in at the Univ. And there are a bunch of them that fit this description. Especially in East Mississippi.
I believe we will see a lot of bogus penalty calls against us.
Bama has so much talent and are the best coached team in America. You can bet with all the extra coaching staff Bama has they have been studying and scheming how to defend the Pirates offense. They want be confused like the Aggies. Now in saying this, I hope we score often and our defense plays its best game of the year. But in reality we will be a 20 plus underdog, and to say Bama isn't as good as last year, it doesn't matter, they are still the best team in the country.
Interesting secondary market so far for this game. 2,200 tickets for sale on stubhub. As low as $35 for upper deck and low as $70 for lower deck. I imagine once we get closer to game time, tickets will sell and the stadium will look full. However, it won't be a sellout. Because of the two losses and ticket prices and all the other long list of reasons people don't go.
Michael Borkey had a podcast on the topic of attendance and ticket prices today.

Can you guys post a new thread?
Bama knows that they are the best. That's why I think they are going to come out and run their normal defense because I'm guessing Saban figures he can get pressure with his front. And he may be able to.
If we by chance are able to move the ball on them and get an explosive play for a couple of touchdowns I think Saban will go back and switch to zone.
At the end of the day it's really no secret what most teams are going to do against Leach. Rush 3-4 and drop 8 and hope we stop ourselves.
It seems to me the best way to beat Saban is to win some one on one match ups on the outside on go routes and hope that you connect on 3-4 and that most of them go for touchdowns. Much easier said than done. But that's pretty much how Ole Miss did it under Freeze.
The vibe that I'm picking up on from State fans regarding this Bama game .. reminds me of 1996. The Bama game in 92 and 94 had sell out crowds. Tough losses. Nobody expected us to compete in 96. It was a late kickoff. There were empty seats here and there. Lots of State fans missed that win that night.
