Just announced.. Harding gets the ball tonight.
That dang lemonis just doesn't know anything about handling a pitching staff*************
Rex54 was not consulted for this decision..
Worst kept secret in the cornfield
Harding did a great job stifling notre dame and they're a better hitting team than Texas.
The odds this morning were
Texas -135
MSU + 115
That was before the announcement. Let's see where things settle.
This is the correct answer. We have the benefit of having 2 games to work with, so we can play the long term game.
If we lose it's all hands on deck. But if we win, we are in a phenomenal position to win it all.
Bednar can't carry us to the finish line. We will have to have MacLeod and Hootie help out if we want to win the whole thing.
Yep. Starting Bednar would give away our advantage.
Bednar vs Madden = push advantage for both teams
Bednar vs TX other pitcher = advantage State
Harding vs TX other pitcher = maybe slight advantage for State
If Harding struggles tonight then we can still go to the staff and have a chance. This is definitely the correct move.
Hootie is a gamer. I think he does well tonight.
We just saw Madden and he is on short rest. I think we hit him today.
Look, if we win tonight Bednar goes Monday. If Bednar goes tonight then you wouldn't see him again until probably Wednesday and that would be on shorter rest than he's had all year. Well, guess what, there is no guarantee that there will even be a Wednesday game. When we played UCLA we had Graveman ready for Wednesday but Wednesday never happened.
Hootie has to pitch for us to win the whole thing. Would you rather him pitch today against Texas or next week against possibly Rocker or Leiter or a hot NC State team? He is going to pitch at some point so why not today when if we win we have the biggest advantage.
Vegas line moving away from us....
Texas -150
MSU + 130
It is what it is at this point. Unfortunately, Cerantola and Fristoe didn't work out, so we ride with who we've got. I don't know if it will be enough to get us all the way to the finish line, but we've got who we've got right now. MacLeod will likely have to pitch again as well.
Why the flip? Is it all because of the Madden v. Harding matchup??
Game time?
EDIT: 6:55 p.m. according to ESPN.
Rocker struggled today, I wonder why?
That was obviously a Rextorical question
