Yeah, I wish the Hawks weren't stupid.
I wish I cared. I just can't get into nba basketball anymore
Y'all might be down on the NBA but their draft is the 2nd most entertaining draft of all the major sports.
Ben Simmons goes #1 to the 76ers
Brandon Ingram #2 Lakers
Jaylen Brown #3 Celtics
Dragan Bender #4 Suns
Kris Dunn #5 Timberwolves
Buddy Hield #6 Pelicans
Jamal Murray #7 Nuggets
My hopes were that we wouldn't try to re-sign Horford and that we traded Teague for something legitimate. With reports that we traded Teague for the 12th pick and then tried to dump both our 1st round picks to create space to sign Horford and Bazemore, I'm pretty down. I don't think Bud is a good personnel guy. We have dumped both our last two 1st round picks and seem prepared to do it again this year...all so that we can tread water as a decent Eastern Conference team.
I'd be fine if we kept Schroeder and pretty much blew up everything else. The team has been entertaining the last couple years, but it has a clear ceiling.
Marquese Chriss #8 Kings just traded to Suns
I'm with you. I understand moving Teague but was hoping for a trade of some sort. Get the 12th pick, only to trade in order to make Horford affordable. You can't keep PM and AH at the 4 & 5 and ever hope to do anything. KK took a step back this past year and is getting old, Bazemore did make more of a name for himself this year and brings athleticism to the team. We need a rim protector and rebounder. Need to trade Horford and get a legit 3 and could play Baze at the 2. Have KK come off the bench.
Seriously, Horford is getting up there in age. Get something for him while you can! Don't go and give him the large contract. PM and AH getting all the money, when they're basically the same position. They have definitely reached their ceilings. Continue to be happy in the 3-6 spot in the East it looks like.
Jakob Poeltl #9 Raptors
Thon Maker #10 Bucks
Why? I'm not disagreeing, I just don't keep up with NBA other than playoffs. I thought the NBA draft was a bunch of foreigners nobody's heard of? Seems that would be worse than NFL since those are all college players being drafted. Interested to know what makes the NBA draft cool
Where is Malik Newman supposed to go?
It's basically all college players now. You have foreign players sprinkled in, which will always be the case, and a lot of the college players are young, but it's pretty entertaining. I mean, it obviously has a much quicker impact than the MLB draft, and does anybody care about the NHL draft? Doesn't seem like a controversial statement to me.
Ben Simmons just proved you don't have to go to UK, KU, Duke, UNC, or play in the tournament to be a lottery pick.
Damontas Sabonis #11 Magic, Hawks just traded for the 12th pick
Taurean Prince #12 Hawks, Teague traded
Hawks got a college senior projected to go bottom of the 1st or 2nd round for Jeff Teague. YES!!!!!
Big trade just happened. Sabonis, Oladipo and Ilaysova go to Thunder for Serge Ibaka.
Great trade for the Thunder. Phenomenal.
Georgis Papacantspellhisname goes #13 to Kings in a trade. Chriss goes to Suns. Bognadovich to Kings also.
Steal of the draft Denzel Valentine..
