Alabama's basketball job is no better than Mississippi State's. I know some Bammer fans have a hard time believing that, but it's true. We made a better hire and if they hire Avery Johnson, it will still be a better hire. Just because he coached in the NBA doesn't mean that it's a great hire. Hell, half of the fans on this board can't name more than 3 or 4 current NBA coaches.
You're right, the jobs are certainly comparable, IMO... Bama's won a few more SECC & SECTCs than MSU and probably leads the head to head... but it's nothing either school should really crow about... Baseball is similar... Football is the only sport of the "big 3" where one school is dominate over the other.Quote:

Back to the topic at hand, this is an interesting hire. Certainly a bigger name than in the past, but I'm not sure how much excitement and momentum this brings the fanbase. And i'm not sure what kind of work he is willing to put in as a recruiter
