We've got a pipeline to Saudi Arabia now!
I guess he got the 3rd slot instead of Garson. I wonder if Garson decided to stay a HC or Howland just chose Zeigler. Either way another coach he is used to having on staff.
Or Director of Basketball Operations for one of them?
Love getting ex D1 head coaches as assistants ...
isn't diamond stone, the #1 center, from Detroit?
McCray is with Howland at the baseball game, so it looks like that's a done deal.
Anybody know for sure on Zeigler vs. Garson? Both seem like good options.
Met McRay at the game with Howland. He introduced himself as the new assistant coach and said he was glad to be on board. Sounds official to me. Howland quite impressive!
McCray, Ziegler, and Brooks are done deals?
Is McCray going to be huge difference maker as a recruiter, or is this going to be a bit slower process than many are expecting?
Personally, I'm not expecting us to pull in multiple elite guys. But is as in as you can possibly be with one of the top AAU programs in the country and also obviously has ties with other programs as well.
He should definitely be able to pull in talent. This isn't going to be a 4-year rebuild.
I'm not expecting McCray to get the very top guys from the ATL Celtics but if we can get a couple of the bench guys we'll be set. For example D'Marcus Simonds doesn't start for the Celtics & he's a top 50-60 prospect. Get 1 or 2 of those guys every year plus the top guys in MS & you're constantly pulling in a top 20 class.
Speaking of assistants...I wonder if strength and conditioning staff will be retained. I know Ray kept them around from Stans/Williams days.
