If the NFL saw this video and only gave him two games, then I've lost what little respect for the NFL that I had.

That's horrible. Pretty disturbing
Only a few more weeks until the NFL wears pink uniform trim to pretend is cares about women.
Remarkable that he isn't in jail. He should be out of the NFL.
Wes Welker gets 4 games for Adderall, Josh Gorgon gets a year for smoking with buddies, and Ray Rice gets 2 games for cold cocking his woman and then dragging her across the floor??????
NFL just released a statement saying they were unable to obtain all the video from that night and today is the first time they've seen this video. I'd expect them to evaluate their punishment for Ray again.
Interesting note: this video is released the weekend the casino goes out of business. Sketchy.
There's the evidence we've been waiting for. Throw the book at him.
They wont change their punishment. If they are going to retro the players involved in the new Drug policy, why would they not retro the players suspended for abusing women. Instead he will miss next week, and then continue to make his millions.
Apparently the ravens tweeted this in may. In case you want to be more pissed.
@Ravens: Janay Rice says she deeply regrets the role that she played the night of the incident.
Sports as a whole has gotten to a sad level, in order to get production back on the field, all common sense is lost.
I bet she doesn't hit him in the face again. I don't see how you can bring criminal charges against him. Technically she hit him first.
**if I were him I would blame it on the roids.
This is not accurate, fyi. Welker took Molly (Do you take Molly? Do Molly? Molly's new to me).
Also, most players who get busted for drugs claim it was Adderall because they can claim whatever they want and don't want to admit having taken PEDs. The league only releases the fact that they "tested positive for a banned substance."
I don't know if they should look at his punishment again or not. The video doesn't provide any more information than was out before. He had admitted to knocking her out. She had admitted to being physical first (I couldn't really tell from the video whether she really hit him or not; looks like she definitely slapped at his chest but I couldn't tell if she hit him in the face with a closed fist or anything, so it's not clear to me whether she's just trying to protect her paycheck or whether she is telling the truth. Is it any clearer if you're not watching it on a phone?)
Obviously there will be a lot more outrage from people that can actually see the hit, but NFL has already taken the position that they couldn't do any more because of their existing policies (or lack thereof). Coming out and changing now would just be saying, yeah, that was all bullshit. Obviously we know what it means for a freak athlete like Ray Rice to hit a woman, but we were hoping other people wouldn't really grasp it and we didn't want to mess up the season. Now that everybody can see for themselves though, and we're in for more of a publicity hit, we're going to punish him for real.
I think I'd lean towards just sticking with the original position if I were the NFL.
I'm the type of guy that says it's not okay to hit anyone. It doesn't matter to me about age, sex, or color. If you hit someone, expect full retaliation. When someone hits me in the head, even if they're just playing, I see red.
I'm not saying Rice is justified, but I am saying she should've never hit him in the face if she didn't want to fight.
I think rice is a POS and should see one hell of a suspension.
That being said, I wonder what the response would be to this if that video was just some guy with rice and not a woman. Think he would even be suspended?
Ban me, please.
This is just one of the reasons that I do not watch the NFL anymore. I do enjoy football, but I just can't support the organization. I don't have the time anyway, especially after watching college ball on Saturday. So it started out of principle, then I just became disinterested.
I seriously doubt somebody would get bullied out of his home town for getting beat up by Ray Rice. It would be basically the same situation. Rice would be cutting a check to make it go away on the civil and criminal side, it's just there wouldn't be much of a media outcry over it.
The Ravens have cut Ray Rice.
what??!?!?!
Given the unpredictable nature of Ray Rice news, I should have said the Ravens have terminated Ray Rice's contract.
She did slap him in the face outside of the elevator but it looks like Rice may have spit in her face right before that
Other than pulling a weapon on him, nothing she could have done deserved a hard left cross from an NFL football player.
