Maybe I missed something earlier, but USM announced that one of our juco OL commits Norman Price signed with them.
I wonder if he flipped or if we encouraged him to go elsewhere? Anybody have any insight?
Same story always seems to hold true... Juco recruiting is always odd
Steve Robertson says Price's girlfriend wanted to go to USM. Price visited last week without anyone knowing and liked it. His family wanted him to honor his commitment to MSU. His girlfriend wanted him to come to USM with her. His girlfriend won.
There is a valuable lesson in this. That stuff between a woman's legs has been leading men around for centuries, and it will continue.
When the "little head" is making the decisions that is the tell all! At least he gets to see early in the season what a horrendous decision the "little head" made!!
Well best of luck next year to him trying to block our front 4.. Might want to tell his GF not to watch this game..
I'm not worried about our guard position thanks to Clayborn and Justin Malone emerging. Beckwith is solid as well. Then we have Kent Flowers, maybe Jake Thomas although I think he ends up at tackle, and Damien Robinson has experience at guard as well.
Something I have never heard any man say: I went to a college because my girlfriend was going there and it worked out great.
Apparently his girlfriend runs track at Hinds and wasn't good enough to run at MSU. I think she is walking on or getting minimal scholarship to USM. Man this guy is clueless. I feel bad for him.
Before you say she should walk on at State - it doesn't work like that in track, especially in the sprints. You pretty much have to be able to contribute if you want to walk on as a sprinter.
What a ****ing *****.
Day before signing day, out of left field, flip.
This is why i don't feel bad about Liggins situation.
A commitment means NOTHING to majority 17 year olds (20 years olds too)
I'm about 90% sure Price was being brought in as a guard. With Clausell coming back, we don't really need two JUCO OT's. My guess is the plan was for Price to replace Jackson, but since Clayborn stepped up it made Price more expendable.
As far as tackle goes, I think Senior, Jake Thomas, and Cole Carter will be fine for us- but right now they are all young. We just need someone like Jocquell Johnson to come in and buy them some time to develop so they don't get thrown to the wolves too soon.
If we don't find a solid OL to fill this open spot I would love for us to offer Shareef White.. Keep adding depth to defense.. Plus seems like this kid would love to be here..
I say we just bank the scholarship till 2015. Right now, we are headed to having 10+ 4 stars in that class. At this rate, their is a chance we could have to pass up on few good players. I would just bank that scholly and sign that 26th player next year that is better than the potential scrap you get this year.
Next year MS is loaded with prospects which means that some really good players will be only left with USM offers. Bank it and get that guy.
That, of which you speak, is undefeated.
Word on the street is that his woman attends Mississippi Southern
We will have plenty of room for next year under the actual signing rules. We could have technically signed 30 this year(5 EEs counting toward last class). Assuming we sign 22 this year -- with 3 EEs counting toward last year's class -- that leaves us the ability to sign 31 next year as long as 6 are EEs.
The amount we can actually sign is limited by the amount that Mullen is willing to actively process players...
Robin Williams said "A man has a brain and a penis, but only enough blood to operate one at a time".
I know a guy who turned down a full ride scholarship to follow his girlfriend to another college and take out student loans. The romance fizzed out and now he is making a student loan monthly payment of over $900.00 per month. He said he regrets that dumb decision every month.

Lets me get this straight.
1. Wants to play in front of hundreds of fans, no tv, play in the CUSA
2. Miss out on the opportunity to play in the SEC.
3. The golden Era of MSU football. New stadium, new athletic facilities, etc.
4. Doing all of this because of a high school girlfriend!
5. miss out on Phi Mu, KD, ZTA, Chi O ladies.
Hey Numb Nuts they all have a monkey! Go back to your daddy's store in Tchula, Belzoni or wherever the hell you came from and grow a set of N U T S.
35 of the 85 freshman's or soph's...DAMN that some young talented depth especially with the addition of this upcoming class
Just because he didn't choose State doesn't mean he made the wrong decision. Don't trash him for it, however, leaving State holding the bag with a last minute flip is pretty sorry.
Seeing the breakdown and the list of seniors, at first glance, it's pretty scary, losing like 18 starters.... until you continue down the list.....
