Acknowledge he should have played KT a lot more this season and it probably cost us 2-3 wins. and i don't want to hear any Bullshit about how he wasn't ready. The only way to get ready is to play. Sitting your ASS ON THE BENCH never gets you ready. Sharpen was a sack magnet all season. I just hope he learned his lesson and quits being hard-headed and plays the best players. The loyalty angle is for a loser's mentality. Can you ever imagine Nick Saban ever resorting to loyalty over common sense. Come on Lebby grow a nut sack and be a real head coach.

KT wasn't ready before the arkansas game. now, could he have been better utilized? possibly, but i continue to go back to him not even being able to read the end on his series at florida. would throwing him to the wolves against georgia and missouri have been a good idea? what game do we win that we lost if KT is starting?

my biggest complaint about the usage of our qb's was how we did not seem to utilize the strengths of each to better the other parts of the offense. there are several legit issues with Lebby's decision making...but who started each game at QB isn't a sticking point based on what i saw.

My problem with this line of thinking is this. This isn't John Madden football. You can't just create a player, put him in, and win.

There is zero evidence that Kamario Taylor would have improved Mississippi State's results on the field. Yes, he would have brought the mobility element to the QB position that we were missing, but you are fooling yourself if you think he could command the passing offense as well as Blake could.

Lebby never admits to mistakes. Just part of who he is as a coach.

Name one play he says was a bad call or one game decision he says was a bad one. It is always the play was there we just didn?t execute it properly or some other excuse.

This is my biggest dislike of him as a coach. Just say you 17ed up every once in a while. All coaches 17 up every once in a while.

Shapen was pretty good in the passing game when he had time. I get that KT alleviates some of the Oline pressure but you don't know if the game finally slowed down for him later in the season. Something we will probably never know.

That is very Moorhead like. I dislike it very much. He seems like he has the program going in the right direction. I like the coaching hires so far also. I hope the offensive coach he just hired helps with some of these questionable decisions like not burning clock against Texas.

Agreed with you here. I think Lebby was a game or 2 late on letting KT start taking control of the offense, that's just my opinion. Shapen could run the offense. What killed us was how horrible the O Line was and Shapens lack of mobility.. that's not a good recipe for very much success.

I was definitely one of the guys calling for KT to start after the Florida game. It was never because I didn't think Shapen was a good qb. With time to throw he is a good one and a great competitor. But with our O line troubles I felt like KT could give us a better chance. Would it have been the right decision? We will never know. I just hope KT continues to develop his passing skills and coverage awareness.

No one will ever know. Blake was a good quarterback that led us to some really close games this season. No need to keep rehashing this. We are not in the film rooms. We are not on the practice field. No need to run down Blake because our OL couldn't cut it. Sure he takes the brunt of the criticism, so is life being the #1 QB. Now I do blame coaching on not calling a specific running play to end the Florida game, or having the offense snap the ball with 22 seconds left on the clock up 17 against Texas in the middle of the 4th quarter. That is what we should be bitching about, not Shapen or his abilities.

I feel like a point that gets overlooked is that our OL was dog shit in the run game. I'm not sure putting a run first QB would have helped. Maybe it would have, but I'm not sure.

I thought Brennan Thompson was our best offensive player all year, and I just think that KT at QB would have made it harder to get him the ball. I could be wrong, but its close.

People act like KT lit the bears up. We scored 19 points. We punted 4 times and turned it over once. I don't think the bears had a better defense than Mizzou, UGA, UT or Florida.

We scored 27, 21, 38 and 21 points against those teams with Shapen.

Look - i'm all in on KT and I think Lebby's offense should be better with a running threat at QB. The problem for this year is that we werent really built to have a running QB be our primary threat, we recruited small fast WR's and our offense was made to have dudes go deep.

Why would he admit to something that is just pure speculation? This is not Playstation. November KT was a different animal than September KT. And November KT completed less than 50% of his passes in his start as well as had the 2nd worst scoring game this season. Based on the facts- we probably win less had we started KT earlier.

I imagine if you gave Lebby truth serum he'd say, "We really didn't want to play the kid early. He couldn't hit the broad side of the barn, and honestly still isn't incredibly accurate. He didn't know the playbook until about midway through the season and couldn't even execute a simple read through the Missouri game. That's not including the messed up cadence that caused a false start at A&M. We honestly were afraid he was going to shit his pants out there."

I mean everyone raves about the Egg Bowl performance, and he looked good in spurts. But it wasn't just some incredible performance. He was 15/31 for 178 yds with an INT. He was really good on the ground, but this isn't 4A football anymore. He has to be a throwing threat. He's not there yet. And he's probably not going to be quite there next year. And that's ok. He's uber talented and an athletic freak but he's far from a finished product. He's honestly miles better today than he was in August.

No, 99 clearly stated a lot more which included losing more games because we just ride with the true freshman experiment. September KT was not November KT. January KT is going to even better which will lead more people to think we had Patrick Mahommes on the bench and Lebby is just a dumb ass. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Should KT have taken more snaps? Yes, but not to the detriment of the team. Hell if we had a better defense that got more stops then you could roll with KT in different situations.

It has been disputed and is disputed. Facts are facts and facts do not care about opinions not emotions. KT was sacked at the same rate as Shapen. KT completed less than 50% in his start after a complete YEAR to be ready. He was injured in his first start too.

Lebby shouldn't apologize for putting the best player on the field. KT wasn't ready for most of the year. Not 100% sure you could say he is ready after watching the Egg Bowl.

KT is a great athlete but right now for this year Shapen was the better quarterback.

This isn't high school football where you stick your best athlete at QB and then just let him riff. That works against Winona HS but not against Alabama, Georgia, Texas, etc.

I remember one pass for a td early on (probably Arky) that it almost gave the defender a heart attack he was so surprised. Went off his hands for a TD, terrible pass but it scored. KT is young, YUGE Chris Relf upside but let?s not forget he was a work in progress early in the year. I hope nothing but greatness for KT and Lebby. Go DOGS

Yep, he even thought the play call at the end of the Florida game was great even though we were already in very makeable FG range. He just isn't going to ever second guess anything publicly.

Chris Relf? He's already as good and probably better than Relf was even if he doesn't improve one iota.

KT has a legit chance to play in the NFL and probably will.

I think it's an example of our fans overvaluing QB mobility over passing ability is basically what it comes down to. KT finally starts and completes less than half his passes and we have our lowest point output of the year and we have a lot of fans that act like it's crazy that he didn't start the whole year because of two admittedly really awesome runs in the Egg Bowl. He also missed on at least 3-4 TD passes in that same game and no one really talks about it.

Having a QB that can make plays with his legs is awesome but if he can't complete passes it's going to limit your production. You need a QB that can legitimately do both. And this year that simply wasn't KT.

So, I'm not sure what Lebby would be apologizing for? "Yeah, uh sorry I didn't play the guy who scored fewer points in his start than any other SEC game this season. My bad."

I don't think he was ready. He was struggling a little bit with reads against Alcorn. He had improved a lot by the time Arkansas rolled around. And it's not like Lebby had a problem playing him when he felt like he was ready. But even against A&M there was confusion when KT was in the game and it caused us to get a penalty and cost us a TD.

Shapen wasn’t the reason we lost those three close games… he didn’t help but he didn’t hurt either. He made as many good plays as bad. The issue was play calling and crap defensive adjustment. Those both fall on Lebby. You kick the field goal and also you don’t hire someone who has never coached defense to be your defensive coach in the SEC. The position he is in right now is his own making.
