6 SEC teams in the top 8
1 Vanderbilt (1)
2 Louisville
3 East Tennessee State
4 Wright State
Like I was saying yesterday, wild how somebody's going to get us as their 3, and somebody's going to get East Tennessee State...
1 Southern Miss (16)
2 Alabama
3 Miami
4 Columbia
Was hoping for Hattiesburg. Oh well.
3 seed in Tallahassee
1 Florida State (9)
2 Northeastern
3 Mississippi State
4 Bethune-Cookman
Tallahassee once again.
Back in Tallahassee. And we get Northeastern. I love that draw.
We may hit 194858384293 HRs in that stadium this weekend. Northeastern has not played a team like us.
We are in. 3 seed fsu. Playing northeastern. Hottest team in baseball supposedly
Shitty draw again in the postseason this year.
1 Oregon State (8)
2 TCU
3 USC
4 St. Mary's
If we can win our Regional, we'd face the winner of this one.
I like it. Hattiesburg is gross.
They have played 5 P4 teams and no weekend series against them. Also consider this, they are used to playing in the northeast and are about to head to Tallahassee where the humidity will be sitting at around 105. I think they wilt pretty quickly. They remind me of Fairfield a few years ago when everyone thought they were going to make a run because they led the country in wins.
Not that 4 seeds are usually a concern, but we probably have one of the 3 weakest teams in the entire field as our 4 in Bethune Cookman (SWAC). So if we do ever face them in a loser's bracket game, we should feel safe pitching Sullivan saving Siary/Ligon for a later game.
And Northeastern had a good year, but come on, every single player on their roster would have transferred to a power conference school if they'd had the chance.
"That's baseball" still applies and we could obviously lose a game to either of them, but will be pretty surprised if we come in 3rd or especially 4th in this Regional.
Florida is going to drag nuts over their bracket.
This thing may turn into the SEC Invitational real quick. All the SEC teams have great draws so far.
Kentucky is in. I think that's it for Virginia and Troy.
Committee doesn't match up things like that. They do 16 2-seeds, 3-seeds, and 4-seeds. And then they just match things up based on location / conference / etc.
I feel like there's always a 6-12 seed host that has a 2 seed that was 18 overall, a 3 seed that was 34 overall, and a 4 seed that was 50 overall. And on the flip side a 6-12 seed host that has a 2 seed that was 30 overall, a 3 seed that was 45 overall, and a 4 seed that was 62 overall.
Virginia did not make it in.
tick tock
Virginia is Fixn decide if they want to commit to baseball.
Hello Omaha. If we have even a decent team this is the easiest draw we've had in 25 years.
Nice opportunity for us to scout the Northeastern roster for transfers
Northeastern doesn't scare me. They pitch it well but they have average hitters and haven't played anyone.
Florida State is pretty good though. That won't be easy.
NE is 40-4 vs quad 3/4
For reference, we are 23-1
We will be the highest rpi team NE has played this year. Our rpi is 35.
Any time you can avoid the SEC on the way to Omaha it's a good thing.
