Let's find some juice
It's official.

Needed to be done.
He was obviously not the guy after '23. Should have been fired then. Wasted 2 years of time because the then new AD was too cowardly to make the move. Head in sand moments rarely end well
I hate that it happened but it had to be done. I really like the guy and will always appreciate 2021.
I don’t like people getting fired. It affects so many people other than just the person being fired. I was really hopeful that Lemonis could salvage his team and make the M over S brand decent again. I always thought Lemonis was a decent person. I will always be thankful for our Natty!
But it was time! He either was too lazy or not organized enough to make these players successful. I have been following MSU baseball for almost 50yrs and I have listened on the radio, watched on tv or been in person all those years. I have seen some unbelievable baseball played at the Dude. But the last 3yrs were some of the worst that I remember. NOW SELMON GO GET US A COACH that will bring back decent baseball.
As expected, we're being raked over the coals by Kendall Rodgers. Knew that was coming. And that's no offense to Kendall, he's going to stick up for the coaches he likes and Lemonis is one of those coaches. Says we should've given him til the end of the season, but he also didn't think we needed to move on after 23 when most of us thought we did.
Again, this is to be expected and he probably won't be the last one to rake us over the coals in the next few days.
Meh- it is what it is. Lemon had every chance to save his job the last 2 weeks and just couldnt do it
The "effective immediately" is surprising. Didn't think Selmon would do that.
I don't feel sorry for him. He got paid. He knows there are two types of coaches. Those who just got fired and those who going to be fire.
All I can say is ........... it's about dang 17ing time. Shoulda done it weeks ago. But water under the bridge. Let's 17ing go and get the train rollin' again. It's finally a new day in Dawg Land!!
...and I don't like people running our program into the ground.
There's a little grace for having an "off" season, but this year, there are 8 SEC schools that are going to be one of the NCAA hosts (as in they're hosting 3 other teams), and we'll be sitting at home. Additionally, 35-55 SEC record (<39% win pct) from 2022-2024 plus this year's crapfest qualifies as having run the program in the ground. I'm glad he's gone... finally!!!
Peterson was definitely harshest. Like I said, I get it. They are friends with him and have no affiliation with the program. They are going to be harsh.
Did we just all agree on something? That this was the right move? Does this mean that we can all be best friends?
Kudos to Zac, who demonstrated a fair balance between patience and not waiting any longer.
More patience than I would've had.
I don't like people making $40k to $50k a year getting fired because they may be the bread winner. I don't mind coaches make more than a $1 million living in million dollar homes sitting on millions in their bank account getting fired for not getting the job done. He was interviewed in the 4th inning of the Texas ESPN game and said we have a good ball club. So if we have a good ball club and are 7-14 SEC, the problem must not be the ball club.
We all know it is of course, but the recruiter extraordinaire brought in the "mediocre" ball club and now he is paying for his and his staff's poor evaluation abilities. Bye Bye Now!
Selmon has now fired two coaches midseason. He's got balls, let's see if he's got THE guy.
And remember this includes 17-13 last year. So 18-42 combined SEC record for 22, 23, and 25 year to date. And the fact is in 21, he may have led the team to a NC but his team certainly wasn't the best SEC team that year as indicated by the 2 7 inning run rule losses in Hoover!
Maybe 3rd time is a charm for rejuvenating my teams with a midseason firing. Saints continued to suck, and the grizzlies completely bombed.
Who in charge now?
