Wow, Bama goes from #10 in RPI, ranked #12 to a Regional 2 seed. Talk about a kick in the nuts. 17 Bama LOL
I expect us to go on a nice run, make it to a Super. Then do it all over again next year.
This is probably Selmon's worst nightmare. This team goes on a run, gets into a regional, and gets put out.
What does he do in that situation? Will the money still be there from the baseball guys like it was earlier in the year? Because that's going to be the decision maker. His buyout, the staff buyout, and buying out the coach we hire will almost all have to be privately funded.
It'll strictly depend on the main baseball money guys as to whether they are content with another Lemo rinse and repeat in 26.
I'd take that matchup right now.
We are going to a super with that matchup.
It's time to start supporting this team with all we have instead of talking about firing a coach
Based on our easy schedule. We'll have Lemonis bucket fart series in there somewhere that will require us to win tourney games I'm sure. Either way, spring football is this weekend.
If he somehow makes it to a regional or super, I let him have his last contract year and not extend. If he wants a new contract or extension, I put a super low buyout in place. If he doesn?t like that, then he can walk and problem solves itself. He goes to Omaha again, then he can have a big buyout.
He hosts or makes a super or hes gone. Dumb Cats are jealous of how many lives this dude has
I'm just going with the Warren Nolan metrics as to what he has on us today.

Something else that has to be realized:
The SEC is even a bigger monster now with the addition of Texas and OU. There is only a P4 now so that adds teams to the Tourney for us. We saw what happened in basketball setting records and baseball will do the same. This projection has 13 SEC teams in the field. That is very likely the case. Adding OU and Texas just made the conference RPI that much stronger. 13 SEC wins may be the new standard to make a Regional
We don't have an easy schedule by national standards. However, we do have an easy schedule by SEC standards.
I think in that case the boosters will demand some changes with assistants and probably try to get rid of Gautreau and Cheese if I had to guess. Well, I guess they could compromise and give Cheese a role within the organization as an analyst or strength coach or something like that.
Because then that would be cheaper than firing Lemonis and it could tangibly improve MSU like Parker replacing Foxhall did. We could probably get Coggin and Ammirati to replace them pretty easily.
If Coggin is like people say he is, I don?t see him and Lemonis getting along well.
So, Coggin has an edge and Lemo has no edge? How exactly is Coggin?
If they are really taking the #13th place team in the SEC, a Lemonade team can sneak into regionals.
This makes the UF series a life-and-death playoff super regional for both teams.
Somehow if Uk and OU start losing, that could create a buffer to the 13th spot.
All my life according to growth charts, doctors and family history, I was projected to be 6?2? or taller. I never got over 5?9.5?.
We do not have enough Quad 1 wins , but maybe the committee is just looking at #13 in SEC regardless.
We need wins against Ole Miss and Auburn for more quad 1.
It may boil down, to taking two from Ole Miss and Auburn more than sweeping Missouri at the end of the season.
Get swept by Ole Miss, and that is a whole other psychological impact on the boosters.
As long as we do not lose any mid week games outside of the Governor's Cup I think 13-17 will get us in if we are projected to be in at this point. Taking 2 of 3 from UF, UK and Missouri and then taking 1 from Ole Miss and Auburn would give us 13 wins. I think that is very doable. At the same time though if we play to our full potential I think we can take 2 from Ole Miss and sweep Mizzou.
Lose the series to OM and he's done. That's the psychological hold they have over some of our fans. It's ridiculous. We call them little brother but some literally think about them in everything we do. Heck we even have people who want to change the last line of the fight song to GTHOM. That's no better than A&M's entire battle hymn being about sawing the Texas' mascot's horns off. Go back to the Moorhead quote about being 2-0 against OM and he said the main goal they told him was beat OM. Like, strive for better.
