possible
What was he mad at? Himself for his play? He'll learn from this but dang, not smart. We are so snake bit.
I'm sure he saw our defense play and hit it. It made me want to punch things too lol
So, if true, we are down to Parson and Jake Weir.......UMASS is going to beat us.
A true freshman gets mad and punching something doesn't equal selfish. He cares enough to be pissed off anyway. If we were taking about an upper class man or a pro, maybe so, but not a true freshman. I can see why as an OM troll though why you'd like to run MVB down.
It's stupid but I'm not sure selfish is accurate. Didn't Jake Mangum mess up his hand punching the dugout wall? I don't think selfish could be used to describe him as a player or teammate.
ETA: Well maybe he broke it sliding into third? Was that just a fever dream on my part that he broke it punching a wall? Or was that an actual rumor from the time?
Wasn't a rumor. Jake slid in to the 3rd Sunday of SBW 17 against UK, ball was overthrown and he scored. He got too excited, came in the dugout, punched a wall, and broke something in his hand. Cannizarro and Rooker almost strangled him in the dugout. It was stupid when he did and it was stupid if Van Buren did it as well. However, I do agree on it not being selfish. I don't think the kid went to the bench and was like "F this. We suck and I'm going to break my hand on this bench". Was it immature? Yes. Do I want a guy who is supposed to be the face of my program going forward doing something stupid that could take him out of the next game? Absolutely not. But do I think he did it intentionally and with malice? No.
If true it's entirely possible we come away from UMASS anointing Parson as the next best thing. These things have a way of happening here more than most.
Is this from the same source that?s said Hutzler is getting demoted or fired today?
Not worried about this at all
I can't really criticize the guy. It sounds like something I would do. At least he didn't hurt himself hitting a teammate.
Hopefully he'll learn a lesson and trash something like a chair at his dorm room next time.
This is a frustration competitive moment injury. At least he cares about the team winning. Derrick Taite would lose a game like that Saturday and then go light up a joint.
