Might be an in state bidding war for Kiffin.
Well this proves that the transfer portal is not the promised land for everyone
UGA realty crushed these dudes' spirit. lol.
Damn, double post.
Kiffin ain't leaving oxfart. his son will enroll next school year and be the QB at oxford high
Maybe but his kid can also go play QB in a Tallahassee or Gainesville HS...just kind of depends where Lame's head is these days. Stay at Mississippi for 10 years or go somewhere it's easier to win a Natty. Also remember Lame loves the state of Florida. Wont be surprised either way
If LK is offered the Florida job he's taking it. The talent in that state is unreal. He knows that. He made UCF relevant by using FSU's and Florida's leftovers. UF is a goldmine with the right coach. Kffin is an elite coach. It pains me to say it but it's true. OM ain't winning a Natty. They'll be damn good but they ain't making the top four.
either way it'll keep my bear/shart friends squirming
If Lane wants either of those jobs he'll get it. It's been widely reported that had Norvell went to Bama, they wanted Kiffin at FSU. I imagine if Florida wants Kiffin, they'll find the money.
Norvell isnt going anywhere:
Mike Norvell contract
Norvell agreed to a contract extension that runs through Dec. 31, 2031, and will pay him $11.05 million in the final year of his contract. Norvell had his contract extended with the Seminoles after he was a candidate for the Alabama football coaching position following Saban's retirement.
Lame at FSU seems like the perfect fit, talent galore and an easier path to the playoffs. I don't think it i will happen though.
Lane loves South Florida. Gainesville to Boca Raton is close to 4.5 hours driving. Tallahassee more like 6.5. I'm assuming with the money he's making he's flying either way and not sure how much being an hour or hour and a half flight matters compared to a 2.5 hour flight from oxford. Probably a much bigger deal for the travel he has to do for recruiting I guess.
Not saying he won't go, just saying that I don't think living in Gainesville or Tallahassee is going to move the needle. The ability to win a championship, more NIL, and better recruiting grounds will move the needle. I think Miami would be the place that would really be attractive to him as far as location, but even though they have good NIL support, that's still a small private school in the ACC. Not sure you skip on the potential to have UF's resources in hopes that you can get Miami back to where it was.
yeah Norvell went 12-1 last year. He is good a couple more years outside of a complete melt
Wasn?t Kiffin offered the job at the U? Why take FSU and not Miami?
I don't know when Miami supposedly offered Kiffin, but Miami is a small private school. Right now, Miami has a strong NIL, but a large alumni base that cares about football is a huge advantage in the NIL world. Miami is going to be highly dependent on a small number of passionate and rich alumni unless and until it kindles interest outside its alumni base like it did when it was the U.
Again, I agree with you. They knew the limitations when they got Uiagalelei. However, for the 3rd time in 3 years, a fanbase fell for the facade that this kid is something more than a big body with a big arm. I think the line is more to blame because they need to be able to run the ball with his limitations. However, this is the downside of NIL. You're paying a kid 6 figures to be your QB. He needs to....you know.....be a QB.
He's settled down now. He eats nutritiously and has given up booze and even discovered the Bible.
