Some SEC QB rankings headed into the season

I'd have to put Beck ahead of Joe Dirt

I think our offense will put Shapen in a position to be more successful than a few ranked ahead of him as long as he can stay healthy

I'm not a huge fan of Milroe. Unbelievable athlete but not the QB I want playing against truly elite defenses. I know everyone says otherwise, but he'd be somewhere around 8-10 on my list.

Vandagriff and Arnold would be a little higher.

I would have Vandagriff higher because I think he's better than 4 or 5 ahead of him and I would have Pavia and Shapen ahead of the guys who have started a game or started no games because both those guys have started and won games.

Our plays in the spring game moved very quickly. I mean the plays themselves, not the hurry up. We would do three fakes in one play so quickly I couldn't follow them from the 50 yard line.

I'd have a hard time not having Ewers #1 too.

Shapen will end the season in the top half for sure. Putting completely untested new starters ahead of him is a joke.

I like this. We always do better with low expectations, especially when we feel disrespected.

I noticed that too. Even when we weren't running the 'hurry up', it just looked like we were playing faster.

That's what happens when you don't huddle and don't have to stare at the sideline for 20 seconds getting the playcall. The QB now gets the playcall in his helmet and either he is signaling to the players or they are looking to the sidelines for what they do. It also helps when you have a staff that has run this "fast break on grass" offense at other places. We are taking what Kiffin does with the tempo and putting Lebby's touch on it

You will see a lot of the no huddle teams playing even faster than usual.

Kiffin took alot of the tempo stuff from Kendal Briles at FAU and then Lebby.
OM went faster when lebby was there than 2022-23.

In the video I linked the other day, lebby talks about how much they practice the process from end of whistle to snap. Getting up, ball spotted, alignment, snap. He put kiffin onto a lot of that.

Should be entertaining if nothing else.

Well and that's what I meant with Lebby's touch. He goes even faster than Kiffin. He teaches the players to run the ball to the officials while the other 10 are running to the LOS. They are getting the play at this time too. It's a lot of moving parts but they have perfected it.

I'm not sure if Med was talking about this but I'm talking about after the ball was snapped. It looked like the plays developed faster and decisions were quicker when the ball was put in the air.

Jonesing for football, I've watched a lot of Lebby from UCF, Ole Miss and OK. A lot of times on runs up the middle, you'll see outside receivers looking to get lined up as the back is getting up from the tackle.

Yes, that's what I meant. Before, even with the qb already back, it seemed to take forever to get the snap, fake handoff to the running back, then look up to pass. Receivers had been open downfield early but the long play development allowed the CB to catch up.
