Great finish. Gonna be tough in Nashville and should be a good game to watch.
Both us and Vandy playing our best ball down the stretch.
Love seeing Ky getting beat.

I have a feeling the winner of the MSU-Vandy game will be in The Dance
Vandy beating Kentucky helps us. If we beat them this will will be fresh in peoples memory
The only team walking into Memorial Gym on Saturday with a realistic chance to make the tournament is us. Vandy has a NET currently in the mid 80s, that will probably rise a bit tonight but not much. They have two Q3 losses and a Q4 loss. The only way they are making the NCAA tournament is if they win the SEC Tournament.
That?s just simply not true. They should move up to at least 78-80 in the NET. If they beat us they move into a Q1 loss for us. So not bad. If we beat them they probably move down to 80-82 spot in the NET and still a Q2 win. If they would have lost tonight it would be a Q2 win or loss for us. Now that?s potentially a Q1 game for us Saturday. Vandy could also go on a run in SECT and get to Q1.
They are not playing our defense.
Vandy isn't getting in with an at large bid. Gonna be a tough game nonetheless. I think it's possible we could lose this game and still get in with a good showing in the SECT.
Hopefully we can just take care of business and not have to worry on selection Sunday.
Yeah, Vandy is NIT bound and has a very good chance to win it.
Some folks are still trying to make this into a situation where we can lose Saturday and it not affect our tournament chances. If we lose Saturday then we'll need a deep run in Nashville. It's that simple. Win and you probably can solidify your spot and get out of those First Four games with a win in the tournament.
Also of note, Auburn losing tonight probably bumps us up to the Last 4 Byes in mock brackets.
1 more win and we are in.
Vandy has been playing good the last few weeks, its going to be a tough game but with them playing better, a win will help us.
We moved up 1 spot to 43
Vandy moved up 1 spot to 84
Something to remember is while the NET is a tool that is certainly predominantly used, ultimately a committee of people will be who picks the tourney. There is a human element to the selection process.
Vandy isn?t making the tourney, but they are playing like a tournament team. It will be tough.
You are right, that's why I said a few weeks back that we don't need to barely be on the bubble, the human element you are referring to will probably put a more traditional basketball program in ahead of ours. Teams like Wisconsin, North Carolina and Michigan are currently bubble teams right now, their name recognition definitely helps them.
Thats why we have to take care of business against Vandy and it still wouldn't hurt to get a win or two in the SEC tournament. I don't trust the selection committee
The idea that a team that is a consensus "last 4 in" can become a lock after 1 win over a team that is not close to the bubble is a bit much.
We are very likely to be in with a win Saturday, but it won't be enough to get us out of the play-in line, and if we follow it up with a loss Thursday, we've got a stressful weekend of waiting.
Every year there are bubble teams who think they are in and get disappointed.. you can't forget about teams stealing bids in conference tournaments or other bubble teams making runs in their conference tournaments.
A win Saturday doesn't completely lock us in, it gives us a really good chance of getting in but any team considered to be on the bubble isn't a lock.
You're looking at bracket matrix? We are one of six 11 seeds, and we are the 4th. Thus one of the 4 play-in teams.
Maybe a win over Vandy bumps us up 2 slots, but I doubt it unless there are bad losses ahead of us. Definitely not bumping up 4 spots to a 10 seed though.
I hate being on lunardi's last 4 in line. If I were on the committee, it would make me wanna go a different route just to show it's not Joe's decision. I'm petty like that though
We’d be 21-10 (9-9) with a Net in the high 30’s in all likelihood. We’d have 0 quad 4 losses. Only 1 quad 3 losses & we’d be 9-9 in Quad 1 & 2 games (4-7 Quad 1). How many bubble teams with that resume have been left out? Yes bubble teams get left out every year but none with a resume as good as ours.
Have not seen it mentioned in this thread but Vandy will likely be without Liam Robbins on Saturday, who had been averaging over 20 points a game since they started their hot streak. They did win without him playing much last night, so it didn?t immediately fall apart without him. But he is a big loss for them and frankly not having to deal with a seven footer that can shoot threes may be a huge break for us.
As a couple have stated, if we win Saturday at Vandy, we are in 100%. Follow that up with a win or 2 in SEC tourny and we can get as high as a 9. If we lose at Vandy and win 1 in SEC tourny, we are still in. We have the resume of a 9 or 10 seed if you take names off of all jerseys right now. Add to that, the bubble is not very strong behind us. It will be hard for teams to pass us regardless of results. Added to that, this year's mid majors aren't as strong. There are only a couple of mid major conference champs that can steal a bid because so many of those conferences will only get one in regardless. The only outcome to sweat is an L at Vandy and an L first game of SEC tourny. Then we would still be on the real bubble. Ideally, I would like to get a 10 seed and play the 7 then the 3. Sweet Sixteen it is!
And Vandy moves one whole spot in the NET
