Florida 2005? I don’t recall us getting them ever under Dan due to security.
Security is very stiff after our games end. I think it was Florida tho
We can do it. They can't keep 20 K people off the field.
I don't even remember it happening at the Florida game. Was that the 3rd and 67 that has now been superseded by 4th and 95?
The last one I remember was Alabama in '96.
Trust me...you aren't getting on the field. I know a couple of people in security and in PD that will make sure you don't touch the field.
2004 vs Florida.
I was on the field in the south end zone with my oldest son when we tore em down after beating arky in ?98. Almost got hit in the head with an upright when it came down. I still have Maroon and White painted grass and dirt we dug up out of that end zone! Great memory!
They have collapsible posts now. They can be lowered very quickly if it looks like the crowd will storm the field. The days of fans tearing down the goal posts are, sadly, pretty much gone.
Maybe after Arkansas ?98? I know I was at a game between Bama ?96 and the end of ?98 where they came down again.
I got a feeling!
I helped tear down the goal posts in 98 Arkansas, 99 Egg Bowl, and 2000 UF. Sadly those days are gone. I don’t know if it could be done now since the posts can come down before people can get on the field.
Don't know about tearing down goalposts, but apparently the Big 10 still lets fans on the field. At least they did the Iowa game on Saturday.
We are safety(ing) our way into complete worthlessness.
Here it is....

Florida was the last one I knew about and I do believe it's the last one that's happened. I still have two pieces of that goal post.
It is sort of surprising that we never have rushed the field under Dan. Auburn 2014 and A&M 2016 may have warranted it. I guess it's the heightened security presence.
That video shows how Faaaarrr we have come.
What's "tearing down a goalpost" mean?
