I really wish this would be one of those rare times we are favored by the football gods. I doubt it though. And if by some chance we landed Fields it would be fodder for the Plantation cronies to spread rumors we paid for him.

Meanwhile, if you want to see what kind of kid Tate Martell is, there’s a Netflix series called QB1 that follows the top QB’s from that recruiting class he and Jake Fromm are both in it along with 2 or 3 other guys. Pretty good show, but that Martell kid is a spoiled prick.
We've got 2 four star QB's and another four star QB coming in. As the saying goes, I think we will be fine regardless of whether we get Fields or not.
Capable of what?
I'm not trying to be a dickhead, but Fields takes you from being an 8-4 type team to being a potential contender for the West or 10-2 type seasons.
If you're "fine" with 8-4, maybe 9-3, then I totally agree we will be "fine", but, if your hoping for more than that, then we need to get a difference maker at QB.
Not sure about you fellas, but I'm about tapped out on the Outback, Music City, Liberty, & Gator Bowl rotation. Hopefully we achieve more at some point.
I get the whole "We settle for less and therefore MSU will never make it over the hump because our mediocre fans" spill. However, this post makes you seem miserable. Would you rather to go back to the Croom years? Be thankful for what we have because at the rate we are recruiting and developing we will never have the Ark, UNM, type years where we go 4-8. We are a good program with a little luck and a few breaks could push for the west every 4 years or so. I am happy with that. Could be a lot worse. Every game we have a chance at winning. 07 MSU did not.

I agree with you. I think MSU fans in general are far more afraid of bottoming out than they are concerned about taking the next step to become a contender.
I'm not miserable, trust me, but I do wonder what MSU needs to do to take the next step. I think recruiting better is the obvious answer, but how to recruit better is the issue.
Not listed as one of ten potential schools by 247 either

I don't think anyone has any real information.
The only reason someone would mention MSU is if they knew about Moorhead & Fields' past together. If they don't know that they we aren't going to be mentioned.
The only schools being mentioned are blue bloods that either have an open QB spot or want a new QB.
Either way, the articles are just guess work
